Farah quitting is s fact not an opinion. He's the reason we have such a poor captain, in your opinion.
@ricksen said:I was very sceptical of our chances this year, and haven't seen anything to change my mind.
We signed lots of reserve graders and let a couple of first graders walk, so our squad is down on quality. Obviously the hope was that the younger guys would improve to pick up the slack - for whatever reason, this isn't happening.
We're still making the same mistakes as we were last season.
We beat two underworked teams, and have been comfortably bested since. The draw steps up a bit from here too: we have 9 games before our bye, and 6 of those teams made the 8 last year (the others are Newcastle x2, and the Raiders). Let's revisit at the bye and assess where we're at then. One whole season and 14 rounds should give us a pretty good idea where JT and this squad is taking us.

Well said, especially **"We signed lots of reserve graders and let a couple of first graders walk, so our squad is down on quality.**"
Maybe we should have let Brooks go and saved Martin Taupau. From what I read Martin took on Sam Burgess and got the better of him last round in a classic struggle.
During the off season when hearing whom we purchased it sound like No Names or No Thrills.

The club got what it wanted, half got rid of Farah and installed the new captain, but it had other choices and if not should not have pressured Farah out of job.

Old question BBF - with NO money who were you going to buy. People who keep flogging this stance need to come up with the answer. No good of keep repeating the statement. The players we bought were the best we could get for the money. We also had to have players for NSW Cup as well or do we run out every week with six players.
Do not also believe everything you read. If Taupau got the better of Burgess last round I'll walk to Bourke. One tackle does not a winner make. Sounds like you were reading the Telecrap.
@Love the WestsTigers said:@ gallagher some what irrelevant in context of this thread but my 2 cents worth on one thing.
When workers are made redundant or forced out of the role/company usually they'd say they resigned.
I think it has a lot to do with pride, dignity and to avoid embarrassment.
For all i know Farah could have stepped down himself but if he was forced to do so he wouldnt be singing that to the media.

LTWT, how dare you kill Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy in one swoop. They already know but it does not suit their narrative of blaming Farah for even the hens not laying and the cows not giving milk.
@Tony33 said:We win this week and we should be back in 8th position with a 3-3 record.
That's a lot better then what many were predicting prior to round 1.
We'd be only 25% of the way through the season, giving us time to fix our problem areas (discipline and concentration) and enough time to actually be competitive and make the 8 this season.
We're not going to bad, if we can improve our discipline and concentration I genuinely think 8th position is the minimum target.

Totally agree Tony,I have always said that the team out on the playing field are the ones that give away penalties, drop ball, fail to find ground on the last tackle etc…they are young but most of them have to shoulder the blame..not just the coach....get all that sorted and they will scare the hell out of finishing in the top 8...go the Tigers...

@Chadman's Ghost said:I'm seriously trying to think back to the last time I saw a 'captain' give his players a proper 'revving up' on field & saw some kind of turnaround in the standard of play. In fact, I'm trying to remember the last time I saw a captain rev up his team at all.
This blame of Woods' captaincy, and the idea that Robbie would be getting better results (proven, of course, by the last 4 years of outright success under Farah's captaincy..) is possibly THE MOST ridiculous argument to come out of the whole JT vs Robbie drama.
Sometimes I wonder if the location provided in the name of certain posters whereabouts wouldn't be more accurately located a little further south & slightly more inland.

As for the thread title in context they are playing a much better brand of football but continue with ill-discipline until that can be addressed ...it is an in game issue the results will continue to be inconsistent...we are travelling better than some of the sides touted as better than us...we haven't be flogged yet and have been in every game we have lost....have been saying for ages the key is to get our best performances and worst to narrow is the biggest challenge of Taylor and his staff..
We all love stats and this is a cracker Tedesco (7 tries) has scored more than the entire St George Illawarra team (6 tries) in the opening 5 rounds..a team that made the 8 last year..
I particularly love the last sentence of your post Geo!
Love it when Saints lose.
