Updated Membership Numbers

Anyone know the count this time last year? It would be interesting to compare.

Compared to some other clubs our members goodies are crap…...now I know thats not the reason you buy a membership for, but in this day and age of marketing, you need to offer bang for someones buck
Not even a key ring or crap hat with the year stamp this year = pathetic

Wests Tigers have the biggest bandwagon supporters in the comp. Actually supporters is probably the wrong word… fickle followers is probably more relevant....

They only show up, become members etc when it suits them and there own agenda based on ground, success and previous joint venture club they supported.

This will be an ongoing problem for the powers to be as the club covers more areas than a cheap two buck hooker. They cannot rely on the loyalty and support shown by supporters of clubs like Newcastle, Brisbane etc.

Still 5556

Don't believe this number. I bought two memberships two days ago. A week before I bought these memberships the website was also showing 5556\. Two days after I bought these memberships the website is still showing 5556\. Obviously the club is not keeping the numbers up to date. If you want the correct current membership number which I very much suspect is much more than 5556 consult the club administration at Concord.

I disagree we are the most fickle, over the 06-09 tough years we were in the top 4 Sydney teams for home crowds. If you want to see a fickle following look at a team like Parramatta.

I think the reason for the low membership numbers is the prices, 3 locations for home games and lack of flexibility in the packages. For example if you only want to go to 4 games you have to pick a set of 4 based on the ground they are at, however if you will miss games on certain week days (eg you can't make Friday/Monday games, but will go to Saturday/Sunday games) then there will not be a package that suits you. Other teams who have a half season membership will let you pick and choose which games you go to.

A LOT of people last year said they wouldnt renew, they werent happy with the club, the performances, the CEO, the coach….they said they'd vote with their feet.

Round 26, 10,000 turn up at Leichardt - still a chance for the semis - says it all

Yep and we played Melbourne , one of the most enjoyable NRL sides to watch

But after the Roosters performance they were lucky to get 100 show up

And many are voting with their feet Maybe the club needs to change things up with the memberships

Yep I agree with that.

No point whinging about the supporters as that is not the problem. The Tiger's 'offering' just does not measure up. The three home grounds situation is the biggest factor in this.

If I am going to fork out my hard earned on a membership then I want to be able to show off that I am a member. What better way than an exclusive members cap or key ring. I joined again this year but am very disappointed that neither are included.

Not sure alexaki, I have to purchase an away membership and so far I have only received my tickets. The pack will be a couple of weeks away. I am basing my post on what ink has posted that no letting or cap is included.

I live in Perth and have been an out of towner member for the last few years, before that I was ticket member since about 06/07\. I havent received an email about renewing my membership at all yet. In fact I dont receive emails or txts at all from the club these days for some reason.
However, I bought some tickets 2 years ago to see Souths play over here through ticketek and I assume Souths got my emial address from them. Since that day I receive weekly emails from Souths.

I will renew at some stage, just havnt got around to it, but my experience with the marketing depts of these 2 clubs says something to me.

It seems an obvious marketing ploy to give the members a cap with a completely different design that stands out and has "member 2013" plastered over it. I'm surprised they're not doing that.

That said, I do have a bundle of hats at home that don't get used, and you know how handy a nice scarf is up on the sunny Gold Coast.
