Thats a pretty obvious cash grab from the members. Very ordinary if you ask me.
I have been an out of town member for a few years now, just to support the club as you dont really get anything for your money except for a hideous cap. Now you dont even get that.
I'm leaning to not renewing this year and just getting a good looking cap from a retailer.

Don't feel obliged to renewing the out of towners as there is no real value in it , and if you don't ? doesn't make you any less of a fan than any of us …..
I'm not a member , but i do contribute in other ways , when i went to Sydney last year spent $620.00 at the Wests Tigers shop in Macarthur i think it is , in one transaction buying Tiger jerseys for the whole family and other stuff , so just cause i don't feel there is value in an out of towners membership , it doesn't make me feel any less of a supporter than a season ticket holder , just getting to Sydney once a year to a game actually cost's more than a season ticket .

Its not that I feel obliged to be a member. I want to be a member, its my club and I wanna be a part of it. I would never not renewed because of on field results because bad seasons happen to all clubs. Your either a supporter or not in my opinion.
But this bit were you have to buy additional members merch on top of the membership is just a blatant abuse of the followers who already put into the club. This has realy shocked me that the club would act like this.
I'll be over from Perth again this year for a game and I'll spend up on my kids at the merch stall so they'y get my money anyway but membership maybe another matter.

I'm not the boycotting type of person but hopefully they look at their numbers this year and dont just write it off completely to on field performances.

i don't think it's about boycotting , it's just simply if the package is any value to you if it is then join ….
I understand the blatant abuse to the fans and it's a joke .
I just try to fund the club the best way i know how , etc. buy directly at Wests Tigers shop , Was a season ticket holder for 7 years straight until i moved away and i miss going to the footy every week...

They have to pay Sheens salary somehow

Thinking about this, the figures are imo a lot worse than they actually look.

Considering we have three grounds, 4 games at each, and many of the members packs are either '4 game at one ground' or '8 games at the two grounds'….in reality its about 2 or 3k per ground.

You could argue if we had just the one ground (either of the three) we'd lose some of these members, but on the other hand we'd maybe, maybe gain some.

Three grounds is definatly part of the problem. One is in the eastern suburbs and the other two have poor facilities. Does anyone think the dogs and souths would have the membership numbers they have if they played out of Belmore and Redfern?

My fear is the club will just assume our membership numbers iss all down to on filed performances.

CSS is far better than LO for facilities. CSS is rather up-to-date for a suburban ground.

I don't necessarily agree that the three grounds is a problem simply because there is three of them, WT has been able to offer a multitude of different packages to cater for fans, however they've not capitalised on it as they insist on charging an arm and a leg for it and they're rather unorganised when it comes to executing the distribution of the memberships.

Considering how expense the packages are, you'd think they give you some half decent merchandise as well. Not only are they not exploring that, they're looking to remove the hat and such altogether.

Three grounds is precisely the reason why membership is a failure at WT.

What do I mean by this statement…

The above alone should see the WT have 3 times more members than any other club. People can go to a smaller number in their geographic preference and are not locked into 13 odd home games.

The problem is something deeper than the three grounds situation.

I don't have a membership. For Me based near East Hills, with 4 young Kids a very active career and church life, I'm stretched and love the second time slot on a Friday as that's the only game I have any chance of watching in its entirety.

I will be interested in semi regularly going to games in around 2016

What exactly do you think the problem is? Why are our numbers going backwards while other clubs are going up?

Looking at those figures, its baffling as to why some clubs you'd think would fair poorly are going well, others youd think would go well arent…..theres no rhyme or reason, its a conundrum...theres no comparisons at all....weird.

Changes in coaches and new off-season signings have seen both Cronulla and Parramatta fans sign up for 2013 memberships in record numbers, with both clubs exceeding their 2012 membership totals in the lead up to the new Telstra Premiership season.

Parramatta, who are chasing 20,000 members, broke their 2012 number just over a week ago and currently sit just below 12,000 members with three weeks to go before the start of the season, whilst the Sharks, who have set the target of 10,000 have hit an all-time record for the club of 6,812 members.

Gold Coast Titans & South Sydney Rabbitohs are also both on track to exceed their 2012 figures in the next few days, with both clubs boasting over a 90% renewal rate. Changes to the Titans membership program to help make it more affordable, and family friendly has paid dividends with the club already signing of 6,000 members, whilst the Rabbitohs have been the first club to break the 20,000 membership barrier for 2013.

I'm very surprised of the numbers of Parra , they must of thought Ricky Stuart was gonna get out on the field or something , I'm baffled more numbers than us ….. and if Penrith don't get alot more numbers surely financially it's gotta hurt them , i know they have a massive Leagues club but don't know how much it contributes to the football team these days....
