The man who masterminded the 1969 GF victory has passed away. We play the Bunnies this weekend. RIP Tiger.

Im sure they will all step up and lift their performance accordingly just like they did for Tom....oh wait....

Sad news and condolences to all his friends and family.A true club legend.
He was a very underated coach, everyone from outside the club talks how it was a massive upset in 1969 but it wasnt such an upset as people claim. In the 2 competition games against Souffs it was 1-1 and we lost the semi final only after Artie was sent off and even then it was by a very narrow margin.
R.I.P Leo

Hope that saying "things happen in three's" doesn't come true

Unfortunately Leo was the third this year,we also lost Dave Bolton in January

Very little respect in our team for things like this. They really should their colours in the first half last week. The only reason they improved in the second half was because they were all frightened of the possibility of being dropped.

Wests Tigers are saddened by the loss of former Balmain player and Coach Leo Nosworthy, who passed away this week aged 93.

Born in 1927, Nosworthy played for Balmain in the late 1940's and 1950's, before becoming a very successful captain-coach at Dubbo and Narramine.

He would return to the Tigers as a coach in the 1960's — first coaching in third-grade before coaching Balmain's reserve-grade side to the Premiership in 1967.

In 1969, he was appointed Coach of the first-grade side in place of the retired Keith Barnes and immediately took Balmain to Premiership success — defeating South Sydney 11-2 in what would be the Tigers' final Grand Final win.

Tigers would like to extend its condolences to Leo's family and the thoughts of all at the club are with his loved ones at this time.

Vale Leo.

Our parent clubs are hurting a bit lately.

I'd say that the boys should be up for the game now, but after last week I know that I am kidding myself.
