This is like the bit where I sometimes accidentally say "England" when I mean "UK" and my Scottish wife rails on me for equating England with the entire union. And she never quite understands that its not that I don't care or misunderstand, it's that I spent the first 15 or more years of my life calling that place "England", without understanding the nuances of the nomenclature, and it's partially hard-wired into my brain.

For some older people Tigers still defaults to Balmain. But don't worry those insensitive people will eventually die and it will be less and less of an issue.

I used to know a bloke who came from Glasgow and 2 things that infuriated him was being called English or Jimmy and the other which upset by far the most was than in all fantasy shows/movies that actors depicting Dwarves always spoke with a Scottish accent (he was fairly short himself)

Andrew Moore on ABC gets a nice balance too ... but that’s it ! Every other mouthpiece on the planet calls us “tigers, tigers, tigers”.

In the wake of V’Landys disrespect, Tommy’s grandstand is giving off a particularly icy ambience. Pete certainly wouldn’t be welcome in the great man’s house.

Haven't seen the vision, but surely you all know how PVL operates by now. Would not surprise me in the slightest that he is further stirring the pot to distract from Manly by calling us Balmain.

Yes, and in any British show, the madman is always Scottish as well.
 
Taking a positive from this bloke's abject ignorance, he does sound a bit worried about the flood of negative media blowback from the NQ game. Anything that gets any of the NRL weasels worried is a very good thing even if we do not change the result

I kinda think Toddy Payten was on the money when he said, in a couple of weeks only Wests fans will remember this game.

The “NRL weasels” will tread water until the tide goes out.

I think that's probably correct but the bigger picture is still important. What is this happened in a grand final? The game is bigger than the people who run it and bigger than one club. Let's make the changes that protect and preserve it.
