TEAM LIST Vs Dragons [round 18]

Team List
Absolutely not. They are competing every week and have just been unlucky. They really lack polish in their spine which is why they haven’t won more games. They’ll be a different beast next year with a new spine, and throwing Koalamatangi into an already stacked pack.
I really rate their pack. This will be a tough game. As you say once they get a couple of those signings there next year it will definitely improve their results

That’s incredibly short for a team with our form/ line up vs an improving outfit at home. I watched the Dragons game
V Canberra and really could have gone either way.
I hope we can win but I’m not 1.50 confident !
PS Let’s hope Star does another job on Holmes, maybe Benji should pull that Cowboys tape out for him to watch.
The improving home team have won a grand total of one game this year. If we loose it won't be because of the quality and effort of the team coming last.

It will be soley because we screwed the pooch and turned up with a poor attitude, poor discipline and no effort.

Injuries whilst we have had them have been well overused for excuses in to many of our defeats this year. If we had more accountability and transparency we definitely would have a few additional wins in the bank and a much better for and against.......

Please tell us all , how accountability and transparency win games .
U win games when ur replacements are good enough for 1st grade not kids , we had 5 of our best players sitting on the sideline, and replaced with young kids with little 1st grade experience, so how does those two words make them 1st grade players ?????

The context was that not all of our losses and the magnitude of them were as a result of injuries.

There have been games where effort and commitment have been lacking and this is where the playesr, coach and club should take ownership and accountability.

100 percent injuries have played a part but I think the club, coach and players have overused the excuse.

I never said we should have won all of the games lost but we should have picked up a couple of wins and had less blow outs.

We didn't loose last week due to injuries for example.....and should we loose to the dragons injuries won't be the cause either....

I see ur points , but untill we started losing players ,, is when it all fell apart, it’s easy to see where we went wrong , no class replacements to fill the spots , and yes benji didn’t try to adapt, with what he had to work with ,

Really we had our whole backrow out injured and AD playing his 1st game in weeks , luai took a head knock and should have come of , may came off within 20 minutes, so please till me how does a team not to struggle , with nearly half of ur best team not playing

Benji hasn’t once blamed injuries

He has mentioned players out several times, the point is we should have won more games than we have and the ones we lost we shouldn't have lost by as much....

Can argue semantics as much as anybody likes but injuries are not the the reason we have lost as many games as we have .....

I will agree to disagree.

I'm very worried about this game.

Their young forwards are full of confidence and Holmes had a great game last week after a horrible year.

Their halves are putrid which should help.

Losing this game will demotivate them so much.

I can just see us taking them lightly..

Actually think Dragons have had real effort in their recent games. Their problem has been too many errors and just poor execution. If they have a good day they could certainly beat us. We will have to dominate the game and score a decent amount of points to ensure a win as our D has not been reliable enough.

If we defend at even 80% of what we are capable of we win this game. Watched the dragons the last few weeks and i think they are only close in those games because the opposition dropped their guard and lacked intensity. They really have nothing in attack and the only player I am worried about is Liddle when our middles are tiring. Hopefully the shitshow they delivered in attack last week against the knights is a bit of a wake up call for our guys and they come in with some serious intent.

Wests Tigers have a history of getting knocked off when they are favourites.
However I think they win in another clunky display as players are again coming back or being shifted.

It's very hard for any side to get consistent results, it's harder still when they can't keep a fit, consistent playing roster going week after week, having to have players playing injured or out of position. I'm damn sure Luai, Makasini & Toa have been playing injured most of the season as was May after his initial dislocated shoulder. I have no doubt without the injury toll WT would be sitting in the 8.

All that being said, though they were off their game, Newcastle are one of the best attacking teams in the competition and the boys held them scoreless for a good chunk of that game, thanks in part to the amount and quality of field possession.
WT would have won if their attack was on song & they didn't lose the ball so much when well into Newcastle's half.
The Dragon's aren't anywhere near the threat of Newcastle in attack, so our boys need to just hold onto the ball, don't overuse the sticky hand spray 😂, keep up the good work in defence and come up with better last tackle options when in the Dragons red zone.

Simples.

Injuries have played a big part as to why our team has slumped in performances over the last 5 or so weeks.

Doueihi last weekend was basically running around out there with only 1 arm .. he didnt look good at all .. !! Taylan May, Bula and Makasini also are also playing with 1 arm .. all 4 players need shoulder reconstruction surgery either now (season ending) .. or manage it as best as they can till the off season for surgery.

Our injured players at the moment:

*Kai Pearce Paul - Pectoral rupture - TBA/season
*Royce Hunt - Pectoral rupture - TBA/season
*Taylan May - Dislocated shoulder - season
*Samuela Fainu - Right foot - Rd 20 or 21

*Alex Twal - knee issue - Rd 18
*Patrick Herbert - Dislocated shoulder against Phins - TBA
*Adam Doueihi - shoulder surgery required at end of season
*Heamasi Makasini - shoulder surgery required at end of season
*Jahream Bula - shoulder surgery required at end of season
Jerome Laui - Concussion protocols - Rd 19

* That's 9 players in total who either have had surgery .. or need off season surgery .. here's hoping we get no more injuries or we might as well be turning up in the NRL with our NSW Cup Team.
