Wests Tigers have a history of getting knocked off when they are favourites.
However I think they win in another clunky display as players are again coming back or being shifted.
It's very hard for any side to get consistent results, it's harder still when they can't keep a fit, consistent playing roster going week after week, having to have players playing injured or out of position. I'm damn sure Luai, Makasini & Toa have been playing injured most of the season as was May after his initial dislocated shoulder. I have no doubt without the injury toll WT would be sitting in the 8.
All that being said, though they were off their game, Newcastle are one of the best attacking teams in the competition and the boys held them scoreless for a good chunk of that game, thanks in part to the amount and quality of field possession.
WT would have won if their attack was on song & they didn't lose the ball so much when well into Newcastle's half.
The Dragon's aren't anywhere near the threat of Newcastle in attack, so our boys need to just hold onto the ball, don't overuse the sticky hand spray 😂, keep up the good work in defence and come up with better last tackle options when in the Dragons red zone.
Simples.
