Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that exciting youngsters Watson Heleta and Marion Seve have extended their contracts with the Club beyond this season.

Both players are currently members of the Wests Tigers’ Holden Cup team and will join the extended full-time NRL squad next year.

Heleta has signed a two-year contract extension through until the end of 2017, while Seve’s deal will see the former Australian Schoolboys representative secured until the end of next season.

Wests Tigers Head Coach Jason Taylor said that both players, while yet to play first grade, are valuable additions to the extended NRL roster next year.

“Both Watson and Marion are extremely talented young players,” Taylor said. “I’ve been really impressed with their dedication and application so far this season, it’s clear that they’ve both made a really good impression on the coaching staff and their fellow players.

“Watson has been really good again this season in the Holden Cup, while Marion has been on the sidelines a bit with suspension but he’s back on the field now and I’m really looking forward to seeing what he can do throughout the remainder of the year.”

Both players were members of the 2013 Schoolboy championship-winning Keebra Park High School team, with Seve winning the Peter Sterling Medal for Player of the Year.

The pair joined Wests Tigers’ Holden Cup squad together at the start of the 2014 season.

Heleta, an Otahuhu junior, has scored an impressive 25 tries in 28 Holden Cup appearances and has represented the Junior Kiwis on two occasions.

Seve’s Holden Cup career has been interrupted through injury and suspension; however the Ipswich Brothers junior has scored five tries in eight appearances and will make his NSW Cup debut this weekend against Wyong Roos at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

Hopefully Seve can string together some games and we secure him for further than end of 2016\. Gun in the making this one. Complete build to make a great centre.

Nice. THink these two will kick on.. They'd do better with Martin. But i'm guessing Martin signed elsewhere and will be announced after there can be no backflips

im stoked! Great news!

I would honestly be suprised if Te Maire left (without jinxing it). Liolevave, Cherrington, Heleta etc are all close to Martin.

It is a bit odd Martin hasn't been announced at the same time considering they all went to Keebra?

Well there are the Centre signings everyone was screaming out for I guess…

I think they are good signings ...Seve's move to SC may be a indicator of FG in the near future...

And I can see the opposition centres fearful in anticipation …..........

Bit of a worry seve has only signed till the end of 2016, they know he's twice the player helata is!!
They would of offered him at least two years???
Maybe he has future plans???? Elsewhere!?!

He is probably backing himself to add value to his contract over the next 18 months

Good kids, good signings. Guess the club sees them as the future.

IMO I thought that Seve was a better player at the Aus School carnival than Sione Matau'tia, if he goes on to be as good that would be very handy.

Good luck to both kids, and boy don't we need a good centre, lets hope they develop fast.

And like many of our young talents , they still need to prove they can make the next step , becoming solid NRL players

Apart from probably Tedesco , many still have work to do before this happens

C'mon happy, don't be so sad!!
Give them time, most of the young players have played less than 30 games each!
Seve is a gun, and goose is probably right and he's backing him self, but I am a little nervous!
But tigers looked after him when he was out for a year!

I reckon bennett will be looking at signing Seve when he can. I have heard massive wraps on seve being the new steve renouf and being a brisbane kid(?) we might be hard pressed holding on to him beyond next year.

The most important thing is,if they are so talented and are our saving grace, why don't they get signed for 5/6 years instead of pitiful one and two year deals…..

Hang on I know the answer,we will develope them for someone else to grab .....that's what the Tigers do...

You mean a 5 year deal like Lawrence was …...............

At least we had seen 4-5 years of where Rowdy looked to be heading

These two are untried at NRL level and someone's talking 5 years

Some one get me a brain surgeon , my tumour has come back

I wouldn't go to the extent of signing a player for 5 years but i think 3 years would be ideal, have you seen the list of players off contract in 2017? It is going to be a misery getting them all to stay.

Two year deals should be the norm …suits both player and Club...

Happy...I've seen Seve about 12 times live now and he reminds me of a young Renouf the way he covers the ground....doesn't look much but deceptively fast...hits very hard in defence and can set up his outside man...even if he turns out to be half as good we are in front....

Well we have never learn't anything anyway cause even before these guys were tried in 1st Grade we committed 4 year deals to untested 1st Grade players at the time.

THE Wests Tigers have added four players to their 2014 roster, including veteran utility Dene Halatau who returns to the NRL club after four seasons at Canterbury.

The Tigers on Monday confirmed Halatau will re-join the club he left in 2009 on a two-year deal.

Coach Mick Potter, who will be without star playmaker Benji Marshall in 2014, has also signed young under-20s halves Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses on four-year contracts, as well as NSW Cup hooker Joel Luani for two years.

Luani has been brought in as possible back-up for skipper Robbie Farah.

Brooks and Moses are both in their first seasons in the Wests Tigers' NYC side, having risen through the junior ranks at Balmain.

Potter said the pair were very talented young prospects with plenty of potential.

"They have shown right throughout schoolboy footy and the NYC that they can cut it easily," Potter said.

"I have no doubt that we will see the best of them in the next couple of years."

Happy don't get anything done with your tumour…it's the best part of you ...hahaha...

Rowdy has been with us how many years before his horrific injury...and was a magnificent player for us before that..these kids are no different to Brooks and Moses and you all think their our future,so why not give them the time..anyway each to their own opinion,I forgot yours is the only one on this forum....
