There is a lot of shared blame for coaches & players, to be honest.
But, at the same time, the Tigers are not that far away from being 5-0, really.
They have been competitive in every game, even the Titans in the 1st half.
there are some on here who want to point out that the defence is worse & that is on Taylor, blah blah.
Statistically, the defence is worse. But, they are defending better. Sounds dumb, but it's true. They are not getting torn to pieces at any point in the game. They get WORN DOWN.
Is that conditioning? The bench? Poor players?
In my opinion, it's inexperience.
The young players are making young player mistakes- particularly in the penalty department. It's not 'too many penalties', it's too many in clusters.
It's just dumb mistakes, and not enough sustained pressure.
The ability is there. The coaching in itself is fine, as is the game plan.
Could the bench be better? Sure. It would be instantly better if we hadn't had to deal with injuries so often, so early.
The day the Tigers start getting some repeat sets at the opposition in the 'red zone', is the day they will blow a team away.
Brooks & Moses need to learn to dribble the ball into the in-goal & get an extra set of 6\. Once they develop that ability, tries will come.
And what happens when you are scoring points & dominating? You stop getting scored on. The defence will get better, statistically.
there are so many slanted viewpoints- those that want to get rid of Taylor will blame him for everything, or those that see Robbie as the saviour will tell you he should be captain, or those that defend Taylor will tell you it's the players etc.
It's all of them.
They are not a complete team yet.
But, they are better than last year. Which was, believe it or not Taylor-haters, better than the year before.
Work in progress team. More consistancy, less cluster-penalties, better bench/injury management, and we should all be singing a different tune.
