We need a clean out.

Now we'll see if you were right or not

Drewby, getting rid of those players is a must anyway but its tought to say the above when we havent bought anyone to replace them. We're playing with juniors which is a great thing and what I wanted but I was mainly referring to using our juniors in addition to buying one or two marquee players to go along with them. That will ultimately strengthen our squad.

I still stay firm on , we need to free up some cap space with not re-signing lawrence, ayshford, molzten, galloway, Tuqiri, Reddy and BENJI….But ehat will never happen..spewin....

We promote some juniors and buy 2 gun players..maybe one centre and one forward. Rest is juniors.

YES, Sirro and Miller in the halves...Brooks to come.

2014 is a long way away. Wake me up when it gets here.

Yep, that is nearly the way to be looking at the rest of this season unfortunately. We are done for 2013.
2014 isn't gonna be much better if we don't use the rest of this season to blood plenty of youngsters and see how they go. We don't need to be convinced again that certain players in our current side are not up to scratch anymore, the players that we have that are crap now will still be crap next season as well.

We now have a massive opportunity to get some game time into some possible future stars in preparation for a big season next year, let's hope Potter and his cronies don't waste it on washed-up hacks.

Funny how the players come and go yet the people behind the scenes who make the decisions on who we resign/sign always manage to keep their jobs.

Interesting article on the weekend which gives an insight into how out of touch these people are with recruitment manager Warren McDonnell telling Mosese Fotuaika's mother two weeks before her son died that Mosese was unlikely to be resigned.

Good work Warren..what over 30 year old player you planning to sign next ?

He supposedly only told Mosese's manager that information from what I can remember reading.
And then further into that article McDonnell dismissed those allegations as complete crap.

Our recruiting is the most pathetic in the NRL though (apart from Parra), something needs to change.

Its all well and good to call for a clean out but who are you going to replace them with? Its not like the open market is overflowing with stars. Anyway its a pointless subject as this clean out won't happen. Marshall's not going anywhere so its wasted energy discussing his replacement, or should i say, lack there of

When are some people on this forum going to get it through thier thick heads - that Warren McDonnell doesen't choose the senior NRL players we sign - that is the coaches job - the recrutiment manager focuses on the 20s , filling the spots and negotiating the contracts for those the coach is interested in.

When a business fails year after year you first look at your management structure before looking at your workers. The board needs a massive shake up and than move right through the place and when you have done that, than you can look at the players. Its amazing what can be done when you get the right people at the top, I look at Coles, they were a very poor second to woolies, they were going nowhere but down,Westfarmers take over put a new man at the top and in a few years they are booming. We need that sort of action

Probably don't need a huge clean-out as such but good teams replace 3 or 4 underperforming players each year with new players that bring enthusiasm, desire and hunger to the team.
Plodders like us tend to keep those same underperforming players because they are "good blokes". As such, you never get anywhere :deadhorse:
