Well done Taylor and Board

If this latest fiasco is not to save money ( and either way it goes) we won't save much.
It is pure ly JT and the board wanting a distraction to steer attention away from their performances, but it has severely backfired on both.

$2m over two years just to save face or as you say a "distraction"? Seriously?

In a period where corporate governance of rugby league clubs is being questioned and improved by the NRL, do you honestly believe that a decision like this was made for the purposes you have outlined in your post?

You are aware that Go's appointment was endorsed by the NRL and the two Wests appointed directors run a very successful business. You don't throw $2m away to distract people. Seriously…

The board would have to take notice of what the coach wants, they have Zero knowledge of football, and probably wouldn't have realised at first just how much they would still have to be paying out.
Taylor wouldn't care as got some extra money to buy someone else. And he needed something to take the heat off his inability to coach

I understand your passion, but what you have written just does not happen with board decisions.

I agree, with good boards with good knowledge of what they are dealing with, your right

I think its a crazy decision, but also understand something needs to change… This bloke has bleed for this club and has lead us magnificently for a long time. However, from an outside perspective, the noises surrounding Robbie and his involvement in some good & average decisions in the past cant be ignored. If anything, he is possibly being held accountable for them?

I'll support the decision for now, but I dont want to hear the rubbish Salary Cap line. This is purely a powerplay by management and a decisions that wouldnt of been made easily.

**There is no way in hell Taylor has the ability to make this decision. Someone else made this call!**

This….. anyone who doesn’t realise this goes much deeper than just a decision by JT is kidding themselves.

Do the Wests Tigers really need their fourth coach in four years? If so the problem is much deeper than the coach and this must be addressed urgently if it hasn't already been addressed.

I think what is needed now is a quorum of forum members to replace both the Board and the coaching staff….as it appears they have no football knowledge...

Would make much more interesting times....week 1 loss sack the coach replace xyz plodder with abc SC superstars...week 2 win premiership here we come 5 year deals for all...weeks 3 loss...rinse and repeat week 1...

Your in with a chance… You can list me as a References!

Im on board for the ride.

Whilst i dearly wish things could be different in the Farah situation because i believe he deserves the best treatment, i understand what is happening and why.

Im sick of being a second rate club, have to try something. Stat strong.

The club captain and highest paid player to be told to look at another club required not just board approval but also consultation.

The board members know the exact detailed position of our cap make no mistake about it.

I don't doubt that, but I think that they thought they would get out of it, without copping anywhere near his full contract cost, and they probably believed he'd go without a fight.

all good points and if it improves the team performances good.

i still think taylor has the personality of a brick and doesnt have public relations skills.

but if it works,good.

Robbie was in a cafe in Burwood today as I walked in he was surrounded by his management team and brother , from want I could make it out he had some offers from other clubs.
I heard his manager say you have to make a decision and the decision is yours.

He looked very stressed and withdrawn.
Although it's a tough decision it is nice to see the coach and board United for once.

The board have zero knowledge of football?
3 x independants
2 x western suburbs
2 x balmain - advise, but have no voting rights atm

Plenty of footy knowledge there

The board don't need a great deal of football knowledge - although I believe they do have it.

If you Head Coach comes to you and says the captain is not a player we need, he is dragging down the morale of the club, he is ruining the workplace atmosphere then any board or ceo worth thier salt in any industry says get rid of him because culture is always more important then skill or talent.

Actually if it was your longest standing, and highest paid employee, any board or CEO worth their salt would address the situation with that person before going off half cocked.

Are you sure it is Farah having a negative effect on the team morale? Or are you basing that on assumption from rumours going around. If so - there is an equally strong rumour that the players fully support Robbie and have the utmost respect for him. And they are far from happy with the clubs decision.
