Clubs wont be able to finance NRL franchises in the future, as they simply wont be able to raise enough funds. You are both confusing the Junior Development process with your loyalty towards Wests Magpies and thier vast development area. Within 5-7 years, I'd say ALL juniors will be pooled into a draft mechanism for NRL Clubs to choose who they want. The IC breakdown has already mentioned this. :brick:

The financial future of NRL Franchises is in the Corporate sector/ownership. Football Clubs are too ignorant/passionate whereas in the corporate world, they will demand results and the best available players they can buy to ensure profitability to thier shareholders.

Wests Juniors are doing a great job within the Rugby League landscape, but they have little to no future within the NRL Franchise business… 😱pen_mouth:

Trodden was our Deputy Chairman in 2005 - so he played a major role (along with Noycey) in our Premiership year and beyond!!!

I think you may not properly understand the structure of the club. The Board of Directors, including the Chairman and Deputy Chairman, sit above the CEO. The CEO reports to the Chairman and the board. Yes the CEO has more to do with the day-to-day running of the club, but the fact that the general fans even know who Trodden is shows how involved he gets, and how much passion he has in a volunteer job. I'd say he has just as much to do with the outcomes of the club as the other staff in the club
