Can't lose the boys club can we. Somehow we let Payten slip through the cracks.

But what's with shifting Ronnie to pathways??
Surely having a legend like Ronnie aro uynd the team is good for culture.

Anyone remember him sprinkling magic dust on the players in the shed before a gane a couple years back.

I’m thinking, maybe Ol’ Ronnie started believing in his magic dust trick and perhaps the management thought , it may be safer to move Ronnie away from the players.
If you know what I mean ? 🤪

I don't blame our club on that one.
JT out (was it JT?) Todd Payten let me head coach. Everyone else "YOU ARE NOT READY".

Everyone else was right.

He also wouldn't have added grit to our team. He would get the forwards working better, yes an awesome forwards coach. But as far as structure and gameplay he will have no idea.

I reckon he will have early success with the Cows, then blow out a little as Benji Marshall with Payten won't give the team structure. Sure free flowing attack with lots of tricks, but no clear spine or structure. Still see them making the 8 though.

What ? Payten has always been known since he was our u20s coach to be a very astute tactician . A smart football mind. He was a ball playing front rower before that was a thing .
He wasn’t ready sure , but that had very little to do with his ability and more to do with his maturity , which was evident in how he whiteanted JT. I’d say he would have learnt a lot from that , and done a bit of growing up .

Peter Tunks another, very underrated player.

Yea , but I mean being a creative link , that is used that way . Beetson was definitely before his time . I meant that Payten , was used in a way that lead to sweeping backline plays , that didn’t exist prior. And I think the league picked the guts out of Tim Sheens’ attacking plays , starting with the way he used payten .

Sounds like Hodgson could be off to England, considered the favourite for the Hull FC head coaching role.

A loss for us as Hodgson had a stack of experience. Would be a great NR1 mentor as well as how to create trouble in attack.

He has shown very little coaching ability so far.Unfortunately there is a massive difference between coaching and playing and tthe best coaches seem to have been average players.(Gibson Ryan Bellamy and the Walking Dead)

I had wondered if any of the Belmore staff were worth pinching.

I heard Trent Barrett kicked them all out. Maybe for good reason, maybe not.

Yet as Gould said, the Bulldogs had grit when they played. They just did noy have the cattle.
Instead Brisbane who had some of the best signings and were underperforming incredibly.

We targetted the Bulldogs halves and that was a huge mistake. The Bulldogs front row though performed well. Better then ours. Of Josh Jackson gets offside Trent Barrett he would be a great pickup.
