Wests Tigers confirm home grounds for next three years

Same as Bankwest - purely commercial benefits.

Both get large corporate and financial benefits which CS/LO don’t even come close to providing.

Playing Parra at Bankwest for our home game will probably sell it out tickets and coporate as well. Huge cashcow for the club.

Do I agree with it - of course not as a fan it’s crap all games should be at our proper homes & not shared but financially wise to hit the targets he is chasing over next 3yrs & to nab a prime sponsor with significant more value than our last - Richo has little choice.

When are they going to realise if they won more games then they lost, then this would get them more commercial benefits then selling a few more corporate boxes … tells me they don’t really think this is happening over that three year period

Agree.

Can only really view this that the financial situation is worse than thought and this is viewed by Richo as the best way to bring on other options to keep/lure players + uplift the football operations as needed - as crazy as it sounds.

Optics and reality is we continue to be a club that is confused with our identity, our strategy and commitment.

One of these days a player will go to the wrong venue on game day.

They are realists.

I’m not getting too worked up over the stadium plan as I am sure Richo is doing what he has to in order to achieve the best outcome for the club. It’s not a simple decision in that we have two areas to cover with two home grounds that each have their own problems and neither of which provide the quality facilities or capacity to grow and satisfy modern corporate requirements. At this stage in our trajectory he’s trying to satisfy everyone the best he can.

Surely we still take our Easter Monday game to Accor like we have done every other year when we were supposed to play at Parra. Aside from gifting Parra a game in their own backyard, we potentially lock out 20k fans at least.
We have actually won our last 2 games at Commbank vs Parra (in a period where we have barely won any games). Not sure the last time we have won a home game against them.

It is what it is. Gives the club a chance to make some $$$ through blockbuster games at CommBank as well as support our roots in the inner west & south west. Maybe within the 3 year period, there will be an announcement of a major upgrade to Campbelltown to take it to 25,000+ capacity with more top notch corporate facilities.

But on the identity thing, I would think it makes sense to play our NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg home games split between Leichhardt & Campbelltown. No Lidcombe. This will help our playing squad build that sense of home at both grounds as well as may entice members/fans to attend more lower grade games.

No disrespect to Lidcombe but we have to move forward.

Even in junior reps if Campbelltown is going to house our pathways COE, Wests Magpies 19s & 17s should play at Campbelltown.

I would be very surprised if Parra Stadium are going to pay big $$$ for the Tigers to take games there and not have a say in which games ….i would suggest they will be getting the games they want ..likely the other Sydney teams … and of course Parra game
You seem confused.

Parra stadium don't pay us to play there, we pay them to play there!!

We make more money using the facilities they can offer us.

I wonder what is a better/more profitable scenario for the club:

  • 7000 members at Leichhardt Oval, 16k average crowd, poor corporate facilities (for now)
  • 4000 members at Campbelltown, 12k average crowd, average corporate facilities
  • 2000 members at Parramatta, 8k average crowd, excellent corporate facilities.

I for one would hate us to miss Magic Round. I'd rather us sacrifice a home game to guarantee playing on Magic Round

Whereas I don't want us to continue giving up a home ground match for the majority of our members and fans, along with the greater chance of winning. Particularly when the burden is not shared equitably and especially so when the Brisbane teams are somehow the away sides.

Without a fair rotation, give me the 2 points from the bye any day, rather than losing yet another home game and it's advantages to any other team.

Richo can stick Parramatta stadium wherever it may or not fit.

Probably the later, given they're no doubt getting a guaranteed walk up payment to play at Parra like we would at Homebush.

They struggle to even break even at Leichhardt and Campbelltown IIRC. Financially the last option wins by miles
