I have said it before and I'll say it again. In an ideal I would like to see Campbelltown Stadium redeveloped to seat 30k. Pull down both grandstands with new, larger stands running the length of the field and it can be done. Logisitically and geographically I think Leichhardt is screwed in this case. You could put up a new main grandstand there but that's about it, the hill couldn't really go due to housing backing onto it.
There is a problem with Campbelltown though, and it's the same as Leichhardt…Each council charges an arm and a leg for us to play out of each ground, and we really need consistent crowds of 15,000 plus to make a tidy profit. As it currently stands, this doesn't happen too often. I'm sure if we were well entrenched in the 8 year after year the story would be different, but it's not.
Homebush guarantees the club $100k straight up. It's too much to turn down in the hope that the fans will constantly pack out Campbelltown and Leichhardt every second weekend. And folks is the reality of the situation.
Is that 100k per season?? If we are making money playing at ANZ but losing money playing at Campbelltown and Leichardt it seems like a no brainer to me
Per game.
Well why wouldn't we entertain the idea of playing more games at ANZ not less if it is a steady source of guaranteed income for our club, lets be honest our club hasn't been a great financial success ever since the JV began 15 years ago
