Its a fact the Tigers brand and the orange & black is what is appealling to the 'fan'.

More of this type of merchandise is sold. More fans supported Balmain

I love the Wests Tigers and the Magpies and glad we took them over, I couldn't have thought of a better club to be in bed with.

The Magpies were glad they took over Balmain as well. All Balmain had going for it was the Tiger logo and its powerful merchandise appeal. Nothing else of any real value. Now there is a big WESTS in front of the tiger. Lovely.

the tiger might have merchandise appeal but thats the only thing Balmain can hold over Wests…kinda like the Dragons...but taking the merchandise part away theres nothing that makes Balmain any more important than Wests...it seems to be forgotten that Wests were around 100 yrs aswell n have just as much tradition n history as Balmain...theres a lot of Balmain fans who need to treat Wests with a lot more respect coz there aren't any Wests fans who treat Balmain with disrespect

For real? You should stick your head in the Balmain and Wests area of the forum some time. Plenty of disrespect going on there. But anyway this has sweet buggerall to do with the topic. We didn't get fined for a salary cap breach because of Balmain or Wests Magpies. The management of the WT is close to, if not entirely, independent of what happens at the football clubs behind the JV. Leagues clubs funding NRL teams is insignificant compared to the grants from the NRL and will be even more so once the next TV deal is done.

They reckon that because not all current NRL clubs were involved in the 02 Flegg comp, only NSW teams…would make the concessions we are using unfair.....also being a JV and having two feeders might be looked on as advantageous....but on that issue Im a bit unsure as Schubert has also mentioned something about the state cup teams?

My issue is Ink that they knew full well what was going to happen once they did this and knew the consequences . As previously stated I was talking to a fellow Tiger supporter over a few ales last year the night of the Broncos game and what the consequences will beWe both knew about it so the club can't say they have been blindsided by it . Also do we have the same issues this year or will the unfortunate losses of TNT and Cayless put us back under ??

This thread has become upsetting. This should be about supporting Gibbs and Farah as Wests Tigers juniors. Not bickering about some ancient rivalry…..build a bridge petty whingers.

Cunno I don't care if people want to go on with it , but keep it in the appropriate threads so that people who are Happy tigers supporters that don't think Sheens should be sacked can read a thread and not be bombarded with garbage that should not be there .

I don't think the club should be fined ...... just make sure we are legit in 2011 in case we win the comp :slight_smile:

It is relevant because the original poster has on a few occasions infered that Humphries is Balmain biased, hence thats why he has started the thread.

Original poster would take any chance to have a shot at Humphries, Humphries loves the Wests Tigers and would never do anything but his best…...........even though he is of Balmain blood.

Problem is we cant talk about Gibbs or fulton (wests)as there getting booted out but we can continue to talk about farah (tigers)or the nsw cup team who gets all the players from the other nsw cup team oh yes balmain taking wests.I agree itt is upsetting tigergirlz but perhaps the anger should be pointed elsewhere.
