How is spruicking that you triple dip to make some profit from lidcombe a positive via your supporters
I think the problem is the us v them issue. Change that to we and have HBG willingly contribute funds and there would be no need to triple dip. In my mind things are starting to become pretty clear. Our board (WT that is) is our critical vulnerability but at the same time is from where we need to draw strength.

SM needs to focus on making WT work on the corporate side of things and probably needs to appoint an interim head of footy to assist both him and Benji. He needs to follow instuctions from the board but is also in a postion to assist BOF.

BOF is the key in the short term, he and the independents need to win the HBG stooges over and have them singing praise back to the HBG board. It will be a difficult task and will be made more difficult if we push for too much change too soon. If BOF can get the WT board talking about we, the first part of the battle is won.

The big problem for BOF is that more of the board are them and think of themselves as them at the moment. That will not be an unusual situation for a seasoned politician. My gut feel is that HBG sacking the independent board may just be the catalyst for change we need. While the shenanigans continue in the background BOF can use that as leverage to demonstrate the need for change and while he can't instiute that change at the top; the debenture holders can.

I don't know if you have ever had one and I don't mean to offend if you actually like it but man I can't stand the stuff, bloody horrid.
Don’t know that I have - but have a vivid memory of the can… so I guess I would have at some point.
Had a shit tin of resches real back in the day (red labe) it was rank - but very affordable which is mostly what mattered as a young bloke.
Also did some time at an outback pub, where they kept a resches tap for their best customer. Unfortunately, he needed a hand sometimes to keep the keg ticking over - so when you’re having arvo beers with the patrons (as you do when running an outback pub) we’d have to help old mate out on the resches tap…
Rank - worst headache ever, you could feel the brain pain going in with every mouthful.

Think the first Resches I ever had back in the day was the classic Diner Ale out of the big bottles, absolute cat's piss

Took 20 years to get over it than tried a silver bullet, never touched the Resches again.

Bought a carton of Crown Lager for the season start for a change, couple per game to calm the nerves lol.

Ok so I need to make a partial apology to HBG on what I said previously. I've had it confirmed to me by the club that the nswrl dictates the draw, clubs don't have a say in it directly.
Our preference has previously been noted for Lidcombe oval as our base and as such the nswrl implemented this.

The nswrl draw was also released before the NRL announced its plans for a 6 man bench, so this breakdown in comms means the nswrl has shot itself in the foot a bit and some players will miss out on game time . But you'd like to think changes could be made if far enough in advance....

Still, our preference for NSW Cup games should be to preceed the NRL match wherever possible, unless weather intervenes. HBG need to support this approach for the good of both the Magpies and WT.
Interesting - that differs from the response I received -perhaps I asked different questions.

I put this to the membership team and the response is below about an hour ago so they are clearly working late to get responses out.

Thanks for your email and feedback.
The costs of running double headers at CommBank Stadium make hosting NSW Cup matches unsustainable.
With the current changeroom set up at Leichhardt, running double headers is also not practical but with the new facilities after the development you should see more hosted here.
We work with our NSW Cup team to identify matches for double headers and do have some pencilled in this year, however, there is a financial incentive to host games at Lidcombe Oval as it can generate revenue from Ticketing, Parking and Canteen sales.
Always great to have your feedback and looking forward to the season ahead.

The response does not answer some of the key questions though; which in addition to the responses were:
  • Does this truly benefit our playing group and develop their experience?
  • Is this really in the best interests of Wests Tigers and its members?
  • Is the scheduling out of our hands or is this driven by Wests Magpies?
Anyway, it appears that financial incentives have driven the decisions for CommBank; and I can live with the excuse for Leichardt - but it does not address the Cambo game. It think the takeaway is that it is a considered decsion that may not be driven by Wests Magpies, although I expect that the revenue identified is being generated is part of the issue and WM are also pulling in that direction (as they have a right to do).
That's a load of crap from the club, whomevers feeding then that rubbish should be canned.

They've played 3 or 4 matches in a row at Leichhardt oval for decades, with the same change rooms. Never been any problems.

I honestly don't think whomever responded had any idea what you were asking about.

Suggesting we move matches so wests can make an extra hundred bucks from the sausage sizzle and ice cream sales is beyond pathetic

Or maybe champion @balmain boy, they knew exactly and this is the way they were directed to answer.

Petition?

I reckon a march will fix it.
Nothing will fix it until we have a unified board at both HBG and Wests Tigers , then we can all row in the right direction , reserve grade and first grade should be played at the same venue anytime it is an option , it’s one club Wests Tigers with the magpies as our reserve grade side , they say it’s not HBG calling the shots where our reserve grade play , so Barry our chair should be calling up PVL if they are mates and put it to him , let’s get unified and play same ground , it’s not hard and if something happened to lidcombe and a game was not able to be played they would simply move that game not cancel it or drop it , it can be done if pressure is put on
