How have the club destroyed his brand, reputation and name?
By dropping him to reserve grade to force his hand so he quits the club. Its a disgrace I want Farah to move on but the way its being done is terrible. if you are okay with it then that's your prerogative i'm not.
I can see why you'd hate what's being done and I agree that it lacks integrity, but I don't think being played in reserve grade damages his brand, reputation or name.
I think it does we'll agree to disagree. How you finish is part of a players legacy and we don't have players that have been as good for as long as Farah. Its just badly vindictive and will hurt the ability we have to recruit in the future.
There's some irony in there for me, about "legacies" . Many WT supporters feel Farah should go out on a high, finishing his career with Tigers in first grade.
But at least the same proportion of NSW supporters thought Farah and Gallen should have been dropped pre Game 3 because they were a big part of a losing culture.
Supporters of Farah feel he is clearly good enough to be in the top 17 at WT, but that is an opinion - not a fact. Same as many were of the opinion that Farah is no longer the best hooker in NSW, even though Blues management disagreed. In fact many comments re SOO centred around Farah being part of a selfish and ultimately losing culture.
But these are all just opinions, it's the coaches job to coach and player brands or reputations, in my opinion, don't matter.
Because if Farah really is our best option, then by rights we will lose more games without him, the coach's record will diminish and the coach will ultimately lose his job.
In other words, if JT is really wrong about this, we won't have to wait long to find out and his number will be up. Pretty big call to risk your job by demoting a good player, just to spite him for salary cap.
Some would say JT is on thin ice anyway and this is his last big play, but personally I don't buy that, I would think he'd keep Farah if it was going to result in more wins. JT might not even see out his contract for the duration Farah is still contracted anyway.
My other opinion is that for too long players have ruled the roost at WT and not been held accountable enough for the poor results. Same teams getting picked every week.
Some coaches finally have the balls to drop high profile players (Potter w Benji, JT w Farah), and the media get a bit of a frenzy, in turn amplified by some fans.
I'm sad that Farah's career seems to be ending on a sour note, but frankly I am desperate for more wins, and if dropping Farah makes that happen, so be it. We could hardly be a less successful team then we have been during his career.
