Wests Tigers plan to play Tim Moltzen at halfback

I just hope he eats a different cereal to what Jake Mullaney and Blake Lazarus ate

Mullaney and Lazarus didn't play Australian schoolboys or 1st grade at 18.
I played against him last year in the SG Ball he is all class, that would be an outstanding achievement.

Darius Boyd made his debut for Brisbane in round 1 in 2006 at age 18\. I think he played nearly every game in his debut year and Brisbane won the premiership that year. I would think Tim Sheens is hoping that the same thing happens with James Tedesco this year.

Thats correct, the story was in the tele yesterday I think,Boyd said Bennett stuck by him all year, even when his form was down, and that made all the difference, did you read that tim.

James Tedesco

Havent seen him play yet but by all accounts on here he is something special. Cant wait to see him go!

You'll like him Styker… He sniffs and isnt afraid to go 'through' the ruck. His biggest challenge will be demanding players like Ellis, Galloway, Heighington & Blair to go where he wants them to go in defence!

In Sheens we trust!

Really cant see Sheens going with Tedesco from round one even if his preseason form is red hot. Its such a long season I think Sheens will want to start him slowly. Also back to Moltz at no7, as well as his kicking game being questionable his defense is also not what you would call great. Being in the line and having big men target you all day is a lot different to mopping up the big line breaks. Time will tell

Personally if I were the Fonz and I was picking the team I would have Moltzen at halfback. He is a terrible fullback and watched so many tries being scored at his feet in 2011 including that fateful night against the Warriors.

Moltzen needs to stay at Halfback all season and he needs to work on his kicking game for hours every day as Robbie is still recovering from Groin surgery, it is unkown how he will be kicking come round one, so we need Moltzen to be on the money with his kicking game.

In regards to fullback I feel that Tedesco might be a bit green, although I watched them last week and he looked on fire. Personally I would go for Mitch Brown. I think he had a wonderful back end to the 2010 season at fullback and he was very unlucky and poorly treated by the Fonz in 2011.

Lote wont play for god knows how long so I would have Utai on his wing and Joel Reddy on the bench to cover wing, centre, fullback and back row.

As for Miller, I think he will not get on well with the Fonz unless he tames down his ego a tad. Fonz hates blokes that are up themselves as there is only room for one person in that organisation to be up themselves.

Agree with you about Moltzen. Not a fullback and not a halfback, period. No kicking game, cannot lead a team around the park, ordinary defence.

I would give Tedesco a chance or someone with pace (you cannot beat it).

How about a backline of :- Fullback:- Tedesco/Humble/Young fellow from Melbourne, can't think of his name. Wings:- Grant (outside Lawrence), Young Fijian from NYC.
Centres:- Same as last year.
5/8:- Benji
1/2:- Miller (best kicking game in the club, Humble, Young fellow from Melbourne.

Plenty of tries with that lot.

Watto if a forward doesn't listen to his fullback about defensive positioning he should be dragged No matter who he is

Farah said Moltz did a great job directing the defense from No1 late last year. Still surprised he's not slated to start there again this year … but I'm excited by this talk of Tedesco.

I have it on good authority that "Teddy" is resigning with the club until 2014…...watch this space.
