Wests Tigers Sack Jason Taylor - OFFICIAL..

I'm not holding my breath for Cleary. I got a sick sick feeling its going to be Payten. That might make the 4 warm and fuzzy, but who are we going to attract from outside the club with a rookie coach?

Has me a little worried too, although if I am glass half full Payten maybe able to bring some players from the cowboys down with him, but Cleary or Toovey would be my first choice.

Oh well at least i don't have to keep my promise anymore and wait till after six weeks before i said anything negative about JT.

The bench selection was atrocious, the bench rotation was atrocious and the team were not playing well.

Kyle Lovett should have never played FG again or at all

Our attack went to water and our defence well its the same old same old and that was one of his key goals. Fix the defence.

It will also put the players on notice, no more excuses, perform or your gone as well.

Nobody will be on notice.
The players now have control. It's over.
Defensive issues will be there next week and the week after.

It's a well overdue announcement, and can't have been a surprise to Taylor
4 thrashings in 7 games, as well as the crap team selections ( rubbish benches etc)
Tissue paper defence. Were screaming SACK ME!!!!!
The excuses ran out. Now hopefully we can find someone who can deliver what he says he can, ANd please , no more slogans.

Who will be to blame when Melbourne hammer us?
Defense is on the players. If they are dogging because they hate their boss then that's far more concerning.
Looking back at the Penrith game, they kicked out on the full on purpose. To hurt the coach.
Seriously. That's what it looks like. Just as bad as Simona in my eyes.

If nothing else, when (not if) he goes, we can get into some decent threads without the same guys saying he is a maggot, insipid, i told you so, i knew he was crap and no one else did sso im a legend, blah blah blah.

And if we go better, thats great!

And without the same people defending his every move then turning on him once they realised everything they said in relation to him over the past couple of years is wrong.

It's not that black and white and you know it.

Some people couldn't stand JT at all, never did.
Some people were open-minded to see how he went, turned on him quickly enough when the results didn't come quickly.
Some people were open-minded to see how he went, thought he should get near-enough to his full tenure to be able to produce the results that previous coaches had failed to achieve.
Some people liked JT as a coach and were optimistic he could do it.

And most people were a thousand shades of in-between of those scenarios.

So I don't think anyone truly defended JT's every move, he did good things and bad things. The results didn't come and it's come faster than most people predicted this year.

Don't go turning on the people who stuck up for the role of the head coach, same as those who stuck up for Potter in principle, even if Potter didn't get the results either.

The person who turns WT around, if ever, will be a genius because it's claimed 5 coaches to date and NONE of them have come back to coaching at NRL level.

AMEN! to that one… I reckon this has been planned for awhile now... round 3 and no results you are out... again, we will never know because we are not privy to that information... I just hope the new coach would get these kids realising their potential.

I was never a fan of Taylor. But, you simply can't keep changing before contracts are out. I hated the way he employed Taylor ball, I hated the fact he bagged Potter, I hate the fact that he never blamed any outside influences. It was always we're working on it and improving. No - we weren't improving and won't until we get some decent players in crucial positions. Next in line can't work miracles. We suck, we've sucked for years because we don't have the courage out on the field to dig in. We don't have the ability to stay focused for even 40 bloody minutes, We don't have cash to attract quality. All we have is a group of spoilt brats that want to stay together as a boys club. Again.!

Payten couldn't attract flies to a BBQ.
He is only named as a possibility because the big 4 want him.
They seem to think that he can take them back to past glory, where defence didn't matter if you could score 50 points.

I can't wait for this next chapter of failure.

Yeah there is nothing to be happy about here, our season is shcizen hausen at round three, we are done for '17…and people are celebrating

Good luck to the next bloke

Celebrating?
Now thats an exxxxxxxageration. This season is salvageable as it is rd3 but he has put us on the back foot and we still dont have a number 9, replacement props, backrowers, halves or centers worth a pinch of salt.

i honestly don't think this is the answer or even A answer. Its a band-aid at best to quell the angry fans an sponsors. 4 coaches in 5 years tells you that there is something else happening at the club.

I'm no fan of Taylor but what type of organization fires a guy like this after two losses? knee jerk much? poor management. The fact they had so little faith in him makes the whole RF saga even sadder. If he was two losses from getting the arse, why not keep a club champion on board and see how it goes. Short sighted madness. If any of the big 4..god i hate that phrase…didnt like taylor then they should of been shown the door. Not because I want tayor to stay and teddy to go but as soon as we have players deciding on coaches...we as wests fan knows how that turns out.

To me this reeks of a spineless management team that is pandering to the masses. The masses can be certain players / fans or whoever. Wests were unstable last season...now its manning the lifeboats time.

Not being funny but people keep saying four coaches in five years. I can only think of Sheens, Potter and Taylor. Who is the other one? Surely we aren't counting Webster who is only an interim coach.

Just on Webster, if gets to coach the rest of the season, what will we do with him if we make the eight?

If true, if this is the primary reason he was sacked, then we have way bigger problems than our coach. That the players could sway the decisions of the club is ridiculous. A new coach will never fix this mess and God help us if it's Payten…. But I'm hoping the club made an educated decision based on past performance and weren't swayed in any way by some of the players. 4 coaches or something in 5 years? Awesome..

Salvageable? Hahaha.
Suddenly Moses and Brooks will tackle men one on one and miss no tackles now Taylor is gone.
It's going to be a wreck and we'll have our first piece of wooden cookware.

The next coach to replace Taylor = 4

We are already all in with these kids, there is no turning back.

Bollocks. It's called "throwing good money after bad". Cut your losses, cut Brooks, offer Moses and Woods market value, and buy smart. Yeah, i can dream.

You cut my post down. Doesn't reflect my opinion.
The club is all in, they invested in them and have no other options in their eyes. They want success and are now pandering to the big 4 and their manager.
By sacking JT today only confirms this and I won't be surprised when Todd Peyton is announced as coach.

Jt would have split the big 4 up and they knew it. Webster is safe and will be told what to do.
Manager of the players can now be proud of himself. He got the boys what they wanted. To keep playing together.

What a load of codswallop,
you've got no proof at all about any Manager.
And you have no idea at all , if players were the factor that made the club act .
Going on the speed of the announcement this wouldn't have been a spur of the moment thing

His coaching alone would have had him on a knife edge since last season, and the number of hidings that we copped in our last 7 games would be enough for him to be sacked anyway.
I think you can sleep safely in your bed, hnowing that the players are not going to revolt over night.
Not sure where you got this fantasy that JT was going to split up the 2+2
It's something he should have done a year ago, but that would have been an admission that he was wrong. Not something that he's well known for doing.
BS was his speciality, and blaming everyone around him,
He earned this sacking, and now he owns it.

I am happy and I am more optimistic about 2017 than I was yesterday or last week, I think the early call is the only call to make on this, it will give us a shot at fixing the mess this year with a new coach who can recruit players he wants to recruit, I will sleep well tonight.

If the next bloke talks about winning and not just effort then we are already ahead. If the next bloke drops players who cant tackle then again the team know they are accountable again something they havent had for 2 years. I will sleep so happy today and im glad the club had the balls to do it now. Hopefully we announce a decent coach and the player signings start rolling in.

About Todd Payten - I remember Tim Sheens saying at the time that he was the first forward picked because he was a front rower with the brains and the skill of a 5/ 8th. A good footy brain and a will to coach this team cant be too bad.
If Cleary is brave enough to take it on you would think he would be first choice.

When Payten is announced. You'll believe.
JT is gone so I don't care about him now, he is history.
Next week no excuses.
We will bounce back with a win, right?

Its a sad day to be a WT fan…Whilst I was very disappointed in our performances the last 2 weeks..IMO little has changed since we let Sheens and moreso Potter go.

Our Footy team is diabolical in Defence and yes, whilst the likes of Woods and teddy have florished, we really have little else in terms of players to smile about....

Will another coach change make a difference....the short answer is NO, unless we get a massive injection of cash and totally revamp the entire football operations where we can attract marquee players and really develop our top notch juniors to reach their full potential....Honestly I can't see it happening....thus today is a sad day as I feel for JT, he was always on the 100/1 shot not the favourite....
