Yeah there is nothing to be happy about here, our season is shcizen hausen at round three, we are done for '17…and people are celebrating

Good luck to the next bloke

Celebrating?
Now thats an exxxxxxxageration. This season is salvageable as it is rd3 but he has put us on the back foot and we still dont have a number 9, replacement props, backrowers, halves or centers worth a pinch of salt.

Salvageable? Hahaha.
Suddenly Moses and Brooks will tackle men one on one and miss no tackles now Taylor is gone.
It's going to be a wreck and we'll have our first piece of wooden cookware.

If the players actually step up now that Taylor is gone we'll have a chance, but then that's really saying something of their opinion of Taylor and gives weight to the "big 4" wanting him out. Whether that's true or not, we're no hope for this season imo.

There is no Big 4!!
I'm celebrating the end of Taylors dismal attempt at Coaching , and his exit.
At least we have the opportunity of possibly getting a good coach, there's nothing to lose. We already suck and highly unlikely to get much worse.
Whereas now we are at the least a chance to find someone who doesn't spread thick layers of BS amd may have a skerrick of coaching ability. It's a win win situation.

The faux Coach is gonski and it was never going to be any other way , bye bye!!

It was going to happen at some stage anyway so better earlier I suppose ..was reading an article that states Payten has the same manage as the Fantastic 4 that is a coincidence .The only fear I have is the club is going to select a rookie which IMO will be a disaster for the club ..there has to be calm minds here at board level this is a huge appointment and probable could have ramifications for the future of the club ..this is a turning point and I just hope the right decision is made!

And that was the exact noise that was made when Potter got the arse….now we have done a 360...

It's a well overdue announcement, and can't have been a surprise to Taylor
4 thrashings in 7 games, as well as the crap team selections ( rubbish benches etc)
Tissue paper defence. Were screaming SACK ME!!!!!
The excuses ran out. Now hopefully we can find someone who can deliver what he says he can, ANd please , no more slogans.

Who will be to blame when Melbourne hammer us?
Defense is on the players. If they are dogging because they hate their boss then that's far more concerning.
Looking back at the Penrith game, they kicked out on the full on purpose. To hurt the coach.
Seriously. That's what it looks like. Just as bad as Simona in my eyes.

If true, if this is the primary reason he was sacked, then we have way bigger problems than our coach. That the players could sway the decisions of the club is ridiculous. A new coach will never fix this mess and God help us if it's Payten…. But I'm hoping the club made an educated decision based on past performance and weren't swayed in any way by some of the players. 4 coaches or something in 5 years? Awesome..

The conspiracy theories are running hot.
The same problems exist that existed three years ago and we have recruited zip. Instead of having a crack at the few fg players we have at the club your anger should be directed at those incapable of managing a cap and providing the fans with a team that is competitive.
We will never be competitive with the 4 good players alone and that is the sole responsiblity of the crap management that we have endured year in and year out.Teddy Moses Brooks and Woods could all play elsewhere and if they were smart based on our history and lack of success, and they way fans love to blame individuals instead of the system they should get out now- just like Ben Teo did years ago. But for some innane reason they have sense of wanting to play for the club. God knows why.

Fox sports and blocker are saying the same.
They all agree the club is hell bent to appease the so called 4.
Ivan Cleary hasn't even been contacted and it's firming up that Peyton is preferred by the players.

Wests Tigers chairwoman Marina Go said the decision was not an easy one for the club to make.

"On behalf of everyone at Wests Tigers I'd like to thank Jason for his commitment and contribution to the Club during his time as head coach," Go said in a statement.

"Jason has overseen significant change within the Club over the past two seasons and we thank him for his efforts.

"We are committed to building a side that will be in a position to win NRL Premierships and believe that this decision is the correct one for the future of the Club.

"This is a challenging time for the Club and Jason and we ask that we are given time to work through this process with Jason," Go said.

Current Wests Tigers assistant coach Andrew Webster will take on the role of interim coach.

Webster previously worked for Wests Tigers as an assistant coach.

Taylor became the first NRL coach axed in 2017 after only Warriors mentor Andrew McFadden was a casualty in 2016.

The Tigers will now have their fourth coach in five years.

Cowboys assistant coach Todd Payten, who previously coached members of the big four at the Tigers, is in line for the job, so is former Panthers coach Ivan Cleary.

The sacking comes as the Tigers find themselves in a bind over the contract negotiations with their superstar quartet - Aaron Woods, James Tedesco, Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses.

Determining the new coach may go a long way to solving their problems.

The Tigers have crashed to heavy defeats against the Panthers and Raiders after an opening round win against Robbie Farah's Rabbitohs.

They face a daunting task against unbeaten pacesetters Melbourne at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday.

Taylor came within one point of lifting the Tigers to the finals last year and needed to make the top eight in 2017 to warrant a contract extension.

It comes against the backdrop of the joint venture trying to secure their four highest-profile players and the Tim Simona betting scandal.

**Wests Tigers statement

Mon 20th March, 02:11PM**

Wests Tigers have today announced the termination of the contract of Head Coach Jason Taylor, effective immediately.

Wests Tigers Chair Marina Go said that this decision was not an easy one for the Club to make.

“On behalf of everyone at Wests Tigers I’d like to thank Jason for his commitment and contribution to the Club during his time as Head Coach,” said Go. “Jason has overseen significant change within the Club over the past two seasons and we thank him for his efforts.

“Our position has always been to make sure that the Head Coach’s contract is tied to performance and that hasn’t changed,” she said. “We are committed to building a side that will be in a position to win NRL Premierships and believe that this decision is the correct one for the future of the Club.

“This is a challenging time for the Club and Jason and we ask that we are given time to work through this process with Jason,” said Go.

Current Wests Tigers Assistant Coach Andrew Webster will take on the role of Interim Head Coach.

Webster returned to Wests Tigers this year after spending two seasons as an Assistant Coach at the New Zealand Warriors.

Webster previously worked for Wests Tigers as an assistant coach.

same same Bon

The way he was terminated is self defeating.
Could have easily announced a 2018 coach that will replace JT and let him see out the season. That's what I hoped for. The boys then see who will be coaching.
Now it paints us as amateurs once again, rudderless and spineless.
Definitely set up by the playing group again.

I would have thought letting JT finish the season even though the club didn't want him would be the more spineless option.

They made a decision and acted on it, that's what leaders are meant to do. Let's see what happens next, if they appoint Payten they are taking the easy option.

What other conclusion can you come to?
They kicked out on the full, missed the tackles, made zero try assists or metres. Basically spectators with great view of the game.
If they can't make basic tackles as professional footballers then what's going on?
Jt was no way coaching this sh#t into them. It's on them.

We will see what happens v Melbourne.
I'll enjoy a 60+ thumping and see who the forum melts down on next. Now JT is gone the halves have nowhere to hide now.

The season failure lays on who now?
Can't be on JT. He can't be held liable if he only coaches 3 games out of 26.
I'm glad it happened because the board will have to wear the spoon.

Like believe Blocker the story teller ..I must say the proven guilty before any evidence is defiantly the Aussie way these days ..has anyone got any concrete evidence that the 4 have demanded Talyors sacking to resign?
What if you are at a cross road in your career where large amounts of $$ and real success is on the table you would not have a lot of Questions of your organisation about who would be the boss in the future ,,so now this is moving in another direction lead by the media Taylor is gone now lets go after the 4 players that have not signed ..please take a step back everybody you are being lead around by the media ..lets see what transpires but then again lets just point the finger with no evidence!

Fans have been calling for JT's head since before he even started here.
Despite poor results, management who hired him had to show faith with their decision to hire him.
I think that was fair.
But two years in and it is less than 24 hours after Tigers take bottom spot on the ladder and JT is sacked.
IMO, considering everything, that is nothing less than swift and decisive action taken by management.
Like the timing or not, it is a statement of clear intention.
Kudos.
Time for some optimism!

Can just see the employment ad…..

:deadhorse: Wanted: 1 head coach, ability or credentials not needed. The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate an ability to answer to his massively underachieving playing group, have a docile, submissive temperament and be willing to pander to the whims of said playing group.
This position is presumably extremely temporary (dependent on personality recommendations from factions within playing group). Must be extremely easygoing, friendly and be open to hearty giggles with the boys. Hard nosed, abrasive personalities need not apply.
Must be enthusiastic to work with unaccountable, underachieving, fragile-minded individuals who must be handled with extreme care and love AT ALL TIMES. :deadhorse:

Spineless playing group with no desire to show some pride in their jersey, club and supporters. A new coach ain't gonna change that fact.

Underachievement and pitiful, disgusting performances are the fault of the players first and foremost.

Get Toddy in and we can all have a backslapping, bum patting love-in. And still be a spineless rabble but at least it can be all warm and fuzzy in the changerooms and on the training paddock.
Shambles.

:roll spot on though

The players off contract have every right to know who's coaching next year and give an opinion of who they would like. However its up to managment to ignore players that havnt even proven themselves at the NRL level yet.
