lol… A New Coach will fix us?!

Looks like another 3 years of "[coach] inherited this squad" from our board etc.

Our problem is Structure & Stock… Nothing will change without NEW Stock!

With only 8 current contracted players beyond this year ..it shouldn't be an issue for a new Coach so I don't see where the 3 Years are coming from Stock wise…?

Wow what a tuff gig is this coach capper. 1st round you look a genius, 2nd & 3rd your a bum.
I do feel for JT he did what needed to be done, but it is hard to see him every coaching again; very high price is often paid to do the right thing. If I every meet him, I would buy him a beer, no problems.
I think at the core of this team, there is a good side; but please only an experience coach should be looked at. Cleary would be just the man and to be honest with the back room sorted, his connection to Pascoe; this could just swing the deal.

Yeah there is nothing to be happy about here, our season is shcizen hausen at round three, we are done for '17…and people are celebrating

Good luck to the next bloke

I've gotta say, most people on here are a lot more confident than I am that sacking Taylor is the solution. He had us in 9th last year, which I thought was a solid result considering he's never had money to buy players and we've only made the finals three times in our 16 years as a club.

Hopefully we're backing the right horse with the "Fab Four".

He dragged us down to equal last the previous year, and even last year his big boast about our defence was the worst in the nrl except Newcastle
If we had made the semis we'd have been an embarrassment anyway

If nothing else, when (not if) he goes, we can get into some decent threads without the same guys saying he is a maggot, insipid, i told you so, i knew he was crap and no one else did sso im a legend, blah blah blah.

And if we go better, thats great!

And without the same people defending his every move then turning on him once they realised everything they said in relation to him over the past couple of years is wrong.

Big difference between defending him and defending the position of head coach.

Anyway, how many will we win on the trot now, starting this week. JT has gone, who was responsible for every issue we have ever had. He is gone now, cant possibly lose!!!!

Cant wait until this weeks team selection. Lets just see what changes.

Garbage lol total crap.

Lets just see. At least you got a laugh out of it. I doubt there is a supporter who isnt relieved that we cant start afresh!

We are already all in with these kids, there is no turning back.

Bollocks. It's called "throwing good money after bad". Cut your losses, cut Brooks, offer Moses and Woods market value, and buy smart. Yeah, i can dream.

The Big 4 put their foot off the gas the last 2 games to expedite the process?

The plot thickens..

I said yesterday that he was white anted. The big 4 will re-sign once the new coach is announced.

two words, Brian Smith.
Like him or not, if you want a coach who will shake things up, and give the club a clean out, drop non performing players, then he is the man.

Are you kidding? He was the one that was the catalyst for our disastrous last few years. If you recall, he was brought in by our previous fearless leader when we were performing above expectations and from memory in the eight. From there Potter was sacked, Farah became a nightmare and now look where we are. :brick:

You are correct, I do remember that now. Been in a haze of frustration and disillusioned with the teams performances. So I suggested him, as I was thinking of how he went to other clubs, and cleaned out the roster.
With the sacking of Jason Taylor, will we see an immediate improvement in players performance ?
I do really hope so, only time will tell.
I detest wests tigers losing games, and not making the top 8.

Well at least we've got rid of the worst coach in the nrl. At last
Goodbye JT don't apply again!

Get your point, but he didn't have far to drag us down. We were fourth-last the year before he started and second-last the year before that. Just worried that the problems are a little more complicated than "Taylor can't coach".

You cut my post down. Doesn't reflect my opinion.
The club is all in, they invested in them and have no other options in their eyes. They want success and are now pandering to the big 4 and their manager.
By sacking JT today only confirms this and I won't be surprised when Todd Peyton is announced as coach.

Jt would have split the big 4 up and they knew it. Webster is safe and will be told what to do.
Manager of the players can now be proud of himself. He got the boys what they wanted. To keep playing together.

Will this change anything in the long run?
Theres multiple issues around the club, do they think getting rid of one bloke will change everything?

This is correct…The club has massive issues and to start with is money...we simply dont have the money to implement and run a top notch football department that is going to attract the players needed to be a force....the current NRL squad is full on NRL impostors (and I include the big 4 in this)...but what marquee player would want to join the WT, whilst the joint is in a mess..?.Look at Newcastle, no matter how much money they throw at a player, most dont want to go near the joint...and we are no different.

At least JT tried something....but it hasn't worked..

Is it time to call the whole thing "mission impossible"?

Taylor was so far out of his depth, without a clue of what to do next. He's run out of excuses. He's sacked everyone but himself , and used them as scapegoats for his own shortcomings,
He can't Coach, Simple.

Could not have said it better myself, he talked accountability, but never preached it, and he himself seemed immune to it, his luck ran out, way too late for my liking but at least it did run out.

Not quite sure what you are saying, you mean he never practised accountability? Do you expect Andrew Webster to drop players for next weekend?

I don't know how you can say Taylor was immune to accountability, he just got fired short of his contract. That's pretty strong accountability for me.

Oh well at least i don't have to keep my promise anymore and wait till after six weeks before i said anything negative about JT.

The bench selection was atrocious, the bench rotation was atrocious and the team were not playing well.

Kyle Lovett should have never played FG again or at all

Our attack went to water and our defence well its the same old same old and that was one of his key goals. Fix the defence.

It will also put the players on notice, no more excuses, perform or your gone as well.

Nobody will be on notice.
The players now have control. It's over.
Defensive issues will be there next week and the week after.

I hear you but I'm not sure the players were as instrumental in this as it is made out to be. Sure the retention plans may have been a factor but i suspect that given it was done so early there maybe something brewing?

If we start winning and make the top 8 the players are justified - if it was in fact a decision made on their say so.

If Webster remains the coach then we may have issues with player control but if we get the right coach then the power shifts back into the clubs favour.

Joeys comments yesterday shaved a few points of their price and if i was the incoming coach i would stick a copy of that article under their noses and ask what they think of the immortals comments? Their response would tell me a lot about them as individuals and players.

Massive news and a little surprising, even with the last 2 results. Clearly something has happened behind the scenes.

Besides that last game, the back end of last year was pretty good, things appeared to be clicking. The last 2 weeks though, were head scratches, but maybe there could have been a reason for the result? Not that that is a good thing and having players go out to purposely play like crap is quite frankly, beyond the pale. I couldn't give a crap if they wanted the coach out, surely that could have been done in another manner rather than wasting fans money and time watching them white ant a coach out on the field.

Anyway, it is what it is and I can't imagine a coach wanting to take on this job, not sure there's too much to celebrate yet, maybe if we get someone decent and then get some positive on the field results, then that will be the time to celebrate. Until then, it could be a different coach, same crap.

I am happy and I am more optimistic about 2017 than I was yesterday or last week, I think the early call is the only call to make on this, it will give us a shot at fixing the mess this year with a new coach who can recruit players he wants to recruit, I will sleep well tonight.

After the last 2 weeks this was bound to happen.
Biggest decision in the clubs history now.

No more rookie coaches

I'm not holding my breath for Cleary. I got a sick sick feeling its going to be Payten. That might make the 4 warm and fuzzy, but who are we going to attract from outside the club with a rookie coach?

It's a well overdue announcement, and can't have been a surprise to Taylor
4 thrashings in 7 games, as well as the crap team selections ( rubbish benches etc)
Tissue paper defence. Were screaming SACK ME!!!!!
The excuses ran out. Now hopefully we can find someone who can deliver what he says he can, ANd please , no more slogans.

I see your point, its only round three.
I had us down as making the 8 a couple of weeks ago so there plenty of time to turn things around. My god they look horrible though and so early into the season.
