Wests Tigers Sack Jason Taylor - OFFICIAL..

Peoole talk about the next coach dropping people. Do they want us to play with 11 because our lower grades have been flogged every match way worse then FG

Its a sad day to be a WT fan…Whilst I was very disappointed in our performances the last 2 weeks..IMO little has changed since we let Sheens and moreso Potter go.

Our Footy team is diabolical in Defence and yes, whilst the likes of Woods and teddy have florished, we really have little else in terms of players to smile about....

Will another coach change make a difference....the short answer is NO, unless we get a massive injection of cash and totally revamp the entire football operations where we can attract marquee players and really develop our top notch juniors to reach their full potential....Honestly I can't see it happening....thus today is a sad day as I feel for JT, he was always on the 100/1 shot not the favourite....

You raise a good point about attracting players. If the club were to move, it had to be done early within the first six rounds so a new coach had the say in buying players.

i honestly don't think this is the answer or even A answer. Its a band-aid at best to quell the angry fans an sponsors. 4 coaches in 5 years tells you that there is something else happening at the club.

I'm no fan of Taylor but what type of organization fires a guy like this after two losses? knee jerk much? poor management. The fact they had so little faith in him makes the whole RF saga even sadder. If he was two losses from getting the arse, why not keep a club champion on board and see how it goes. Short sighted madness. If any of the big 4..god i hate that phrase…didnt like taylor then they should of been shown the door. Not because I want tayor to stay and teddy to go but as soon as we have players deciding on coaches...we as wests fan knows how that turns out.

To me this reeks of a spineless management team that is pandering to the masses. The masses can be certain players / fans or whoever. Wests were unstable last season...now its manning the lifeboats time.

Not being funny but people keep saying four coaches in five years. I can only think of Sheens, Potter and Taylor. Who is the other one? Surely we aren't counting Webster who is only an interim coach.

Just on Webster, if gets to coach the rest of the season, what will we do with him if we make the eight?

Knight Him :roll

Yeah there is nothing to be happy about here, our season is shcizen hausen at round three, we are done for '17…and people are celebrating

Good luck to the next bloke

Celebrating?
Now thats an exxxxxxxageration. This season is salvageable as it is rd3 but he has put us on the back foot and we still dont have a number 9, replacement props, backrowers, halves or centers worth a pinch of salt.

Salvageable? Hahaha.
Suddenly Moses and Brooks will tackle men one on one and miss no tackles now Taylor is gone.
It's going to be a wreck and we'll have our first piece of wooden cookware.

If the players actually step up now that Taylor is gone we'll have a chance, but then that's really saying something of their opinion of Taylor and gives weight to the "big 4" wanting him out. Whether that's true or not, we're no hope for this season imo.

It was going to happen at some stage anyway so better earlier I suppose ..was reading an article that states Payten has the same manage as the Fantastic 4 that is a coincidence .The only fear I have is the club is going to select a rookie which IMO will be a disaster for the club ..there has to be calm minds here at board level this is a huge appointment and probable could have ramifications for the future of the club ..this is a turning point and I just hope the right decision is made!

Well Penrith bounced back and won Canberra bounced back and won Manly bounced back and won Souff's bounced back and won Canterbury bounced back and won..then there is us…

We are already all in with these kids, there is no turning back.

Bollocks. It's called "throwing good money after bad". Cut your losses, cut Brooks, offer Moses and Woods market value, and buy smart. Yeah, i can dream.

You cut my post down. Doesn't reflect my opinion.
The club is all in, they invested in them and have no other options in their eyes. They want success and are now pandering to the big 4 and their manager.
By sacking JT today only confirms this and I won't be surprised when Todd Peyton is announced as coach.

Jt would have split the big 4 up and they knew it. Webster is safe and will be told what to do.
Manager of the players can now be proud of himself. He got the boys what they wanted. To keep playing together.

Fair enough, i misunderstood your post. I said before Farah left that he was the common denominator. I was wrong. The common denominator is that coaches are not allowed to drop players. That has survived all players and coaches. Even Gus Gould said yesterday that he thought the big four were holding the club to ransom. Everyone in league knows Brooks is not up to it except the board. :unamused:

Depends how you word your argument, you could say we're about to have our 4th coach in 14 years.

I wonder if some of the major sponsors got into Go's ear and said enough is enough, change tack or we are leaving the club as sponsors ? Money talks. Just a thought.

Its 4 in the last 6 anyway. Taylor has had the last 3 and Potter the 2 before that, Sheens before then.

Yes, thats exactly what peoole want. Play with 11\. :crazy

I think people want the players and management to be held to accountability. I'd much rather watch the team get flogged with Rookies in certain positions and the dropped players earn a spot in the team. We will get flogged but so what? We get flogged anyways. competition for position would do the club wonders.

Nobody will be on notice.
The players now have control. It's over.
Defensive issues will be there next week and the week after.

It's a well overdue announcement, and can't have been a surprise to Taylor
4 thrashings in 7 games, as well as the crap team selections ( rubbish benches etc)
Tissue paper defence. Were screaming SACK ME!!!!!
The excuses ran out. Now hopefully we can find someone who can deliver what he says he can, ANd please , no more slogans.

Who will be to blame when Melbourne hammer us?
Defense is on the players. If they are dogging because they hate their boss then that's far more concerning.
Looking back at the Penrith game, they kicked out on the full on purpose. To hurt the coach.
Seriously. That's what it looks like. Just as bad as Simona in my eyes.

If true, if this is the primary reason he was sacked, then we have way bigger problems than our coach. That the players could sway the decisions of the club is ridiculous. A new coach will never fix this mess and God help us if it's Payten…. But I'm hoping the club made an educated decision based on past performance and weren't swayed in any way by some of the players. 4 coaches or something in 5 years? Awesome..

The conspiracy theories are running hot.
The same problems exist that existed three years ago and we have recruited zip. Instead of having a crack at the few fg players we have at the club your anger should be directed at those incapable of managing a cap and providing the fans with a team that is competitive.
We will never be competitive with the 4 good players alone and that is the sole responsiblity of the crap management that we have endured year in and year out.Teddy Moses Brooks and Woods could all play elsewhere and if they were smart based on our history and lack of success, and they way fans love to blame individuals instead of the system they should get out now- just like Ben Teo did years ago. But for some innane reason they have sense of wanting to play for the club. God knows why.

Now that the inevitable has happened, whether it will make a difference or not is any ones guess. We are a rare breed at the WT.
I hope so - for the sake of the club and fans who are getting sick of the same old tales that we will improve and we are not
I feel sorry for Jason Taylor, he wasn't the man to coach the WT's, we need a strong no nonsense coach, someone who will take no nonsense from anyone - I hope that person is out there, and he can bring the team together and fix us 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray:

The person who turns WT around, if ever, will be a genius because it's claimed 5 coaches to date and NONE of them have come back to coaching at NRL level.

This and the fact we pay peanuts are merely two of many issues why we cannot attract a quality coach.
We are coach killers and its well known in NRL/RL circles…the next bloke must be very very brave
