Wests Tigers Sack Jason Taylor - OFFICIAL..

I'm sure this is the same article they wrote after we were thrashed in Canberra last year, even down to the headline. Take it with a grain of salt. It'll happen, but whether its this week, i'd be surprised. In saying that, it wouldn't be a bad thing. Just please don't sign Payten. Please. He has disaster written all over him. We'll be having these conversations in another 2 or 3 years. Sound out Cleary before anyone else. Offer him full authority and free reign.

I think your right BS article but if in fact there's any truth to the matter? Cleary needs to come in ASAP and rectify the ship and put things in place for next year onwards.
No point sacking Taylor for an interim Coach useless exercise….they want to give JT till Round 10 at least but I don't think things are working and player's aren't busting there chops for the Coach either.

Ivan Cleary would be the guy I would be going for and expect him here next year.

I reckon this is made up

WHO knows…. We're renowned for leaks.... But there's no quotes.
Apparently this is everywhere on social media.
The line Payten and Cleary would auto start immediately sounds suss.... Maybe paws' standby queue has come to reality

It was written in the Daily Telegraph? Hold the press's everyone!! Also in the same paper; The Pope announces he's actually a Buddhist.

Jason Taylor will get the sack when I see it on a media release from the Wests Tigers. They need to either get on the front foot and confirm it or deny it now before the rumor-mill continues…

Wouldn't this be great! Apparently a change of coach will have us winning instantly from next week (according to some on here). If it happens that way, I'd be happy…....but something in my brain makes me think it wouldn't make a scrap of difference. But Ive been wrong before.....

If I was Melbourne ..I'd be very worried…

I think it's pretty clear though that Taylor wont be here beyond this year...so an early call is preferable to letting it drag on...

Please let this be true. Come on tiger management time to move on from JT as he is not the future. Time to appoint a coach asap and give him full power. No more favourites, clean out the deadwood and get active in rhe player market. Urgency is a must.

Cleary would be great…he can bring his son too.

Pretty sure his son is locked in. I'd still want Toovey if it was to come to it. At least when we lose we'd have someone screaming blue murder at the presser.

Tooves is coaching in the ESL isn't he?

I wouldn't mind him, he'd lose his mind after every loss.

I don't know what he's doing. He'd certainly bring some mongrel and accountability. Whilst I recall Cleary having some limited success at times, I also remember him seeming rather timid after losses. He's probably pretty similar to JT but with a whole lot more likeability.

Where there's smoke there's fire..

Can we please never roll out this worn cliche again? No where there's smoke there isn't always fire, sometimes it looks like smoke but actually it's something different like steam or dry ice or another chemical reaction.

And in the media, stuff is regularly published that has no foundation at all. So perhaps if you are a fire-fighter, yes, go to the smoke because it's very likely to be fire.

But when the media speculate, it's very likely just speculation. Seriously, count up all the published articles of predictions in the paper and see how many of them actually play out.

That's not to say JT isn't done, I think he is, something happened after the game yesterday and the supporters, the commentators and the media have turned. The existing goodwill got used up in a 3rd-straight flogging by the Raiders, nobody wants to see a side hammered by their opposition every week, and I don't think JT will survive much longer, even if the new guys just has to get in and shake the place up.

Signing Cleary won't solve issues over night. It might give the players a lift and it might make us more attractive to players on the open market, but in regards to on field, it will be pretty similar to what we're already seeing. He'd need an offseason to implement his structures and ideas. If this year is just used as a stepping stone to being big movers in the player market and knowing Cleary will have an off season under his belt, well then bring it on.

Coaching Bradford..but would probably have a get out if an opportunity in the NRL came knocking…As it's Wests Tigers he may not open the door..

I think Toovey is coaching Bradford which are in the Championship (one level down from ESL I believe).

Nah ….keep him for 1 more week ...
Sack the imposter at 1/2 time at Leichhardt !

Have Farah present him with his severance cheque !

I'm not a Taylor fan but it pisses me off that the players routinely move coaches on cause they feel like it

Will this change anything in the long run?
Theres multiple issues around the club, do they think getting rid of one bloke will change everything?

This leaked to the media from the Board.

If that doesn't typify the issue this club has with leadership, nothing can.

No no no no no :frowning:

"You can either forfeit your contract and leave immediately, or you'll be running the water bottles for the remainder of the season. Regardless of how your replacement performs"

Great news. JT is WAY out of his depth.
Please god make it be Cleary. It'll be so good to have a fresh coach choosing the team on merit and not the usual bunch of favourites.

I'd rather Cleary, or Toovey ( I'm sure he's got an out clause in his Pommy contract ,)
But if not I have no problem withPayten. There's been plenty of good said about him in Townsville and theCowboys club
