If this does happen which it won't, i can not see myself supporting the Magpies. **I think i speak on behalf of most of the teens** who Support WT. It is just too hard to support them.

Could you support Balmain?

Don't think so, but it would be much easier to adapt to. Going from **Wests Tigers to Balmain Tigers wouldn't be as hard as WT to Wests Magpies**.

I hope you dont speak for them

You Balmain people make me sick as **it is always about you**. The so-called spiritual home - Leichhardt Oval, the so-called legends of the club running the show - all Balmain (aka Steve 'Moo Moo' Roach), the one inch Magpie on the sleeve that most players tape up (yet we are supposed to take it on the chin), the fact that the club is run out of Balmain territory and Wests' supporters get the rough end of the pineapple in that they only ever get s*** home games at Campbelltown at s*** times. I'm from WA and can see it from here but I guess that doesn't matter since I'm only from the other (Magpies) side.

Sounds from your rant that it's **all about you** still being all bitter and twisted.
While you're at it could you let us all know the 'spiritual home' of the Magpies we play at so the media can reference it?
Don't think the most earnest Magpie would consider that to be Campbelltown.

If it meant putting an end to all this petty arguing I'd rather just become the West Coast Tigers and play from Perth.

Why not the West Coast Magpies?

To truly get rid of this ongoing saga between fans & board members, you would have to take the 'Tigers/Magpies' name/logo out of the equation.

And why would anyone here want to support a team in Perth? I'd rather support North Sydney Bears

Wow…what a surprise this has ended up like this..... :bash

WESTS Tigers ..that is all... :sign:

Wow all of it hey? And here I was thinking the NRL grant and the ongoing support of the fans was the major financial contributions to the club.

Relax Magpie col Im sure if Balmain was supplying all the money they would happily keep the Wests name afloat yes. Anyways we are the Wests Tigers now and the truth is Wests magpies couldnt survive now anyways.

Why wouldnt Campbelltown be a spiritual home for Wests fans they've been there 30 years.I mean we are wests tigers now but that is a cheap dig isnt it ck

If we did piss off Tigers…. And called the team the Magpies how many supports would we have? And how many would we lose? Would NRL support us?
Would we still have Harry's sponsorship?
Who would Farrah, Woods, Brooks, Moses, Sironen..ect play for?
Holy Cross and Leichhardt juniors talent would be spilt between Parra, Dogs and Souths. Rugby Union be happy as they would have a strong hold in the area. Next year the new National Rugby Championship is starting up and the Sydney team is going to be based at Leichhardt Oval.
Did Mark Geyer address any of these issues?

I've always thought of WESTS magpies and balmain tigers as the parents of WESTS tigers. It's hard for me to comprehend things from their perspectives and as a neutral I feel like of one side of the JV goes broke, the other needs to help them out. If one side of the JV turns over a massive profit, I'm sure they would invest it in the WT.

You would soon run out of money as the magpies are rubbish and nobody will pay to see them

Why does the notion of being Wests Magpies always come up? Not going to happen, the head of Wests Ashfield has even said it himself. They are not going to throw away 15 years of building a brand.

Geyer, you would hope, was referring to the ownership structure.

In all seriousness, the real spiritual home of the Magpies is Lidcombe Oval - always was, always will be. I know it had to happen at the time (or so they told us) because of the growth of the area and the large junior base etc, but Wests moving to Campbelltown was the worst thing that ever happened to the club - it was akin to an unsuccessful heart transplant.

This is what I meant in my post Jerry.
The Magpies were only at Campbelltown from 87-99 - and it wasn't a popular move to start with for most of their fans.
You couldn't call it the Magpies 'spiritual' home.
I agree with Flip about Lidcombe - if WestsTigers played a game at Lidcombe the press would have every right to include that as a 'spiritual' home ground just like they do with Leichhardt.
They do it because of the history - nothing else.

So you disagree that Cambo should be considered as a WT's spiritual home CK, despite the fact that the club has played out of there every yr since its inception 15 yrs ago. What the area was to the Magpies is irrelevant because they were there only 12 yrs, the WT's have been there longer than the Magpies now.
