Welcome back Farah….i bags the concrete balcony on the scoreboard at Leichardt .

Not his fault the Club was silly enough to heavily back end hid deal.

At the right price only till the end of the year with Mbye + Farah think we are a massive chance of sneaking in the 8, I think deep down Ivan knows our hooking is a massive issue.

If he doesn’t, he’s an idiot.

His not getting much of a look anyway so he'd be silly to hang around there, let's face it we've gone through 4-5 hookers this year already so obviously there's an issue there.

If he provides Brooks with the service he needs and doesn't overplay his hand more often than not then yes it's a good deal.

Obviously at the right price and only till the end of the year, only then do I think it's a win win situation.

So if Cook doesn't back up from Origin 2 and 3 like after game 1 no biggy for Souff's..like it

Well then they've got NRL veteran Billy Brittain to fall back on…

I actually could see Souths releasing him based on comments I've heard from Seibold recently, what I can't see is Wests Tigers as a club wanting him back.

When the cat comes crawling back with it's tail between it's legs it can act like a different animal.. I would welcome his return because it's not based on money but desire to come home and finish where he started.. we do need an experienced hooker.

this is a no brainier, we need a hooker who can play 80 mins and can tackle, with mybe coming to play fullback we need a better spin than what we have, i know a lot dont want him but he could be the difference between making the semis or not.

Wests Tigers coach Ivan Cleary instrumental in moves to bring Robbie Farah back to the club
June 14, 2018

SENIOR Wests Tigers officials will meet with the club’s coaching staff and board today to discuss the prospect of signing former captain Robbie Farah before the June 30 transfer deadline.

It comes as Farah has contacted Tigers coach Ivan Cleary about leaving South Sydney to finish his career where it started.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Farah and Cleary have held private talks about a Tigers homecoming for the past few weeks.

These conversations have prompted Tigers players to contact Farah about returning to the club.
Robbie Farah has managed to play just two NRL games for the Rabbitohs in 2018.

The former Test and Origin hooker has only played two NRL games for the Rabbitohs this season due to the emergence of Damien Cook, who has become a consistent first grader and NSW Origin star.

Farah has spent the majority of the season playing for North Sydney in the NSW Intrust Super Premiership.

He is desperate to play more NRL before hanging up the boots.

If Farah joins the Tigers, the deal would be for the remainder of the 2018 season.

It’s understood South Sydney officials won’t stand in the veteran hooker’s way if he was able to secure a contract with the Tigers.

The Daily Telegraph contacted Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe on Thursday afternoon about the prospect of signing Farah before June 30.

When asked if the joint-venture club had interest in Farah, Pascoe replied: “No.”

The Tigers boss was again contacted on Friday morning regarding reports Farah was poised to return to his junior club.

Pascoe refused to comment, saying: “We will not be commenting publicly on matters of recruitment and retention up until the June 30 deadline.

“This increased period of player movement is accompanied by the annual rise of speculation.

“In fairness to all involved, we will not be making public comment in this extremely sensitive environment.”

Farah’s management are hopeful a deal with the Tigers will be finalised in the coming days.

Some were willing to welcome back Woods into the Wests Tigers fold. I for one welcome Robbie Farah, a true warrior of the club, returning to his rightful home. Not going to get into any arguments so don’t bother.

@BuzzRothfield Just saw Robbie Farah meeting with Ivan Cleary. Any chance he could be a tiger again before June 30?

A return to the Tigers would allow Farah to reunite with former premiership-winning teammate, Benji Marshall.

The pair could form a strong combination and lead the Tigers to the finals, before fittingly retiring together.

However, Farah’s deal at the Tigers is far from finalised.

The Lebanon international fell out with several board members and then coach Jason Taylor when he left the club for South Sydney in 2016.

But with Taylor no longer at the club, the Tigers believe Farah could play a vital role in helping the team play finals football.

Farah played 247 games for the Wests Tigers between 2003 and 2016, while he had a key role in the joint-venture club’s maiden premiership in 2005.

Amazing how so many either forget or disregard the goings on of just a few years ago. This r swipe brought the club to its knees pretty much. Some club legend. Meningas Rats and filth come to mind.

Ivan will give him his roll and enforce he sticks to it. I doubt Robbie will buck the system and will play that roll. If it's for half a season I'm 100% for it. I also think Robbie will be hungry for semi-finals footy to end his career along with Benji at our beloved Wests Tigers. Lets get it happening Ivan.

What , like Benji stuck to the plan for 3 1/2 games

If this club goes there they'll get a war from me :imp:

the nit pickers can nit pick, once we start winning more (which is a certainty) they will forget. Mbye, Farrah and …? who will be number 3

This thread and poll is like a hooker up the Cross - the closer you get the prettier they look and their sweet perfume arouses the senses then we surrender to lust and bust (our bank).

What…we'll win due to Farah? We couldn't do that for a decade with him at his peak.

Exactly right , people quote we only made the semis 3 times in 10 under Sheens , well we only made the semis 3/13 with Robbie

Certainly no Messiah that's for sure

Plus you bring both Marshall and Farah back together at your own risk , they still wield a lot of power

This is where you anti Farah people lose it. We ever won games with Farah at his peak?

One positive that he brings is kicking from dummy half on the 4-5 play. How many times has Benji and Brooks been rushed into a kick this year because the defence knew they were kicking. Markers will have to watch Farah as well now which is a big plus kicking to the corners..

Yo the main thing here is to forget the past and make new history. I am excited about Farah's return, alongside Benji.

We've always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that. Or perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we've barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.
United in duty. Bound in Destiny.
Spread the love, spread the peace X
Welcome the new chapter of Wests Tigers.

Rabbitohs fans on LU want to keep Farah. They praise his influence on Cook as the reason Cookie is the player he is now.

Would you rather have…Taylor/Godinet as our hooker rotation for the rest of the year or play Farah 80 mins week in week out with 4 forwards on the bench.

Don’t kid yourself, Farah would solve all of our problems barring he doesn’t bring the club down which I’m confident he won’t with IC steering the ship

I have never been a massive fan of Robbie but must admit I think this could work for us in a couple of areas:

1\. First grade level hooker to play the season out whilst Liddle gets himself ready for next season. Let’s face it no decent hooker will come here for this season only knowing we have Liddle as our long term future.

2\. Chance to complete our top 30 roster and use up our salary cap as required by the NRL for this season only and not impact on our opportunity to purchase more quality players for next season.

For mine these two points are smart salary cap management and don’t jeopardise anything for next year. We are past the half way mark and on the slide and a major contributing factor to that is the hooker position.

If this move helps get some momentum back and head us to the finals then great, if not it won’t have a long impact on our team past this season.

I say roll the dice and see how they land.

R. Farah - probably the most polarising figure to have worn the club colours.
I was adamant at the time of the 'divorce' that he should go. To come back for the remainder of the season only - why not? I'm kinda warming to it.

It would be great that we dont have to carry 2 players to cover the one position, for a change. Better service from dummy half, more tackles from the forwards, and a stronger bench. Yes from me.
