Does anyone think he'd want to come back if we were last on the table?

The guy is leaving a team capable of playing the Grand Final

He is giving up on a possible Grand Final spot.

You answered my question by not answering it.

Thats just silly.

i answered you by saying he is actually giving up on better than we have to come back. Think about

You entitled to your opinion however I think this line is off the mark.

Souths are morals to make the 4.

Were outside the 8 as usual.

I think when you play 247 games for a club you do actually have an affinity/emotional attachment for it.

Yeah but Norths are coming 2nd last.

Yep. No thanks. Robbie the hero. = Zero

Unfortunately many are blinded by the BS.

Yeh, I dont understand it. All the hard work that this crew have put in this year, only to have a 'LEGEND' air-dropped into the squad to save the season. **BS** I'd just as soon see this hard working squad have an honest dig each week without the hero. Is he really going to take us to a grand final? Think again Ivan!

NT I nearly always agree with you, and I still do in a way as the article made me regret the yes vote I put in today.

However, I imagine a bench with 4 forwards, including mck to cover injury in the backline, and I think it's worth it as on the field he strengthens us. I think he offers a lot more than Benji and I welcomed him back (until the second half of round 4…. that's another story).

Nonetheless, I can't really argue with anyone on this. It is a risk/reward situation that is very clear if you feel strongly one way and not so clear for anyone else.

Fair enough. If it happens, I will be disappointed because our squad has scrapped their way to our current position and I would rather not see that compromised by any individual for any reason. I genuinely thought we were moving forward as a team and I see this as a backward step, that could undermine the good work that has been done so far. For what gain? So we might make the finals, what then? Robbie gets another year?

Fair call Eddie. But let's be honest, he's most likely going to be in reserves for a top 4 team.

If Cook cops a season ending injury this week i think Farah drops his interest in us.

How do we loose though ?
You have a player that isn't getting a look in and will do everything not to finish his Career in Reserve Grade which he would more than likely play for less $$$$ to see 1st Grade and end his Career the way he originally wanted .
Perhaps with some Semi Final footy.

We have massive hooking issues so he would solve the problem till the end of the year .

Couldn't wait to see the back of him when he left but I've mellowed and it looks like Robbie has too. Major reason for wanting him back is that we need a first grade hooker to fill the breach until Liddle gets match fit for 80 minute stints. The secondary reason is to allow Robbie the finish to his career that he wants. He's spilt enough blood for us to deserve it.

Correct. This crap that his giving up a top 4 final's birth to come back is ridiculous.

We lose if it turns into a circus. I see your point too, I don't envy the people making this decision.

Am happy if the coach thinks it's ok but is he really up to scratch for the top side? A Benji and Robbie led revival? Somehow I doubt it

I hear you. A definite no to another year, if Liddle isn't ready we need another long term option. All of this needs to be agreed and not negotiable before the talks go any further, otherwise forget it.

Disagree…...it turned into a Circus last time cause they tried to force him out when really the Club were the stupid ones to approve such a heavily back ended Contract . This time around money has nothing to do with it , it's solely NRL playing time .
At his age his still a better hooker than any of the ones we have at the moment .

Robbie never want to leave the Tigers.

Winning one game at the Tigers in 2018 would mean more then winning 3-4 at Souths in my opinion

Love him or hate him he has always been passionate about the Tigers since he was kid.

He wanted to be a one club man.

Just my gut feeling but even if he were last I reckon he would want to come back.

I can't argue with any of that Eddie. Maybe he would still like to come here if we were coming last. I doubt it, but your right he was always passionate about the club.

But he's not sacrificing a top 4 spot. That's laying it on a bit too thick.
