This guy has been through the justice system and it has determined the penalty for the offence. I don't think it is the position of any employer to then decide to double down on that and exact further punishment by way of denying a person the right to earn a living at his chosen profession.
the NRL and clubs certainly have the right to protect their brands, but unless the offence is of such a significant nature to result in brand damage, I don't feel that they have a role to play.
The sentence from the court would seem to indicate that this offence was at the lower end of scale.
He's still a relatively young man. I hope he's learned a lesson, conducts himself appropriately from here on and plays some awesome football for us.

To be honest, if he turns out to be a revelation I think ( if I was honest with myself) I’d probably look past his history. I think the issue is people ( me included) were hoping for a more elite signing and this kids copping that. Good luck to him. Prove us haters wrong.
