Wests Tigers star Robbie Farah dropped from NRL to reserve grade

Elijah Taylor's management contacted Justin Pascoe today informing him they have received two offers from Newcastle & New Zealand for his services. As previously indicated Pascoe has a very close personal relationship with Elijah Taylor and will move heaven and earth to keep him at the club. Taylor's management have assured Pascoe that the Tigers will get the final say / offer. Everything I've been told up until today was $450k p.a. would secure Taylor, I've got nothing new regarding these 2 offers, but reiterate that we don't have a spare $450k, unless Farah moves on. You can join the dots, I don't have any comment or further inside info - in fact I was / am shocked to hear that Farah will play reserves, but equally I've known for a while that Pascoe got Elijah Taylor to the club and he doesn't want to be the one to let him go. I'm sorry nothing else to add, I really know nothing else.

It is official lads,

Wests Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe said Farah's axing, which has ruined the club's plans to celebrate Farah's 250th NRL game at Leichhardt Oval against the Cowboys in round 22, isn't the end of his time at the club.

"This decision was purely made on what the coach believes is the best for the 80 minutes against St George Illawarra on Sunday," Pascoe told Fairfax Media.

"I would think Robbie is bitterly disappointed but he will commit and work as hard as he has throughout his career to get himself back in the NRL team.

"Every sporting club employs a coach to chose the best team they believe will give them the best winning chance each week. This is and never will be a board or CEO decision."

As long as he is replaced with either Liddle or Cherrington

Boy if we lose to the Dragons on the Weekend ? Expect hours of Delay on this Forum come Sunday Night  .

It's slow as a wet week now :brick:

Maybe JT just doesn't want Farah to play his 250th at LO? We all know Farah has special feelings for that ground.

I say we all go out to watch farah on Saturday and boycott the dragons game. That will tell the board and pascoe what's up!

Just like the rally did when 20 people showed up.

This is pretty funny. Funnier still is that I wouldn't be surprised if JT came out and said well this was all part of the masterplan.

I'd be surprised if the broadcasters even televise the game now?.
Will there still be a finals series?

I don't know how true this is but I heard that Buckets isn't a great fan of R Farah either

This could be as much both Taylor and O'Neill as anything else

Maybe TT can elaborate ??

Wests Tigers can confirm that Robbie Farah will not play for the Club’s first-grade team on Sunday against the St. George-Illawarra Dragons.

Head Coach Jason Taylor informed Farah on Wednesday that he will not be in the NRL team to face St. George-Illawarra this Sunday.

“This was not an easy decision to make, but I have selected the 17 players that I believe will give the Club the best chance of victory against the Dragons,” Taylor said.

“Robbie is understandably disappointed, but I have spoken at length with him that he will be given every opportunity to regain his position in the NRL team."

Farah will play for the Club’s Intrust Super Premiership team on Saturday, July 23 against Newtown Jets at Leichhardt Oval.

You're telling everyone they should put a player above the club and go and support the player on Sunday instead of the club. And you ask me if i'm a Tigers supporter

I was just listening to triple M and they have reported that Robbie Farah is being dropped to NSW cup this week against the dragons, that's all the information I got as I missed the conversation about the subject but heard them say he is being dropped this week

Fairfax Media understands Taylor is strongly of the opinion Farah doesn't allow young superstars Mitchell Moses, Luke Brooks and James Tedesco to play with the same freedom and authority when he is on the field.

The Tigers want their young playmakers calling the shots and while Farah is still considered the state's best hooker, his style doesn't suit the way Taylor wants to play.

Bollocks. It's very simple - we are stacking our state cup team and it is right under the nose of the NSWRL. We haven't won a state cup/reserve grade comp in years and this is our best opportunity in a long time.

Whilst I agree Robbie needs to go and that maybe this will be the final nail and probably will also mean JT won't be here….......kinda a win win, but......Robbie has been playing fairly well off the bench, we've got a shot at getting into the 8 and we're going to play Dene at hooker who has been less effective than Robbie.......it makes no sense to do this now with the possibility of playing finals.
