Lawrence is smart defender and great at disrupting halves, if he does end up starting he will be there to put pressure on Williams. There was a game two years ago against the Storm in NZ, where Lawrence did a real number on Brodie Croft and was a big factor in winning us that game after starting as big underdogs.

No real issues with the other changes, although Harry Grant will be very busy without a break, hopefully with a bigger pack/bench this week he won't be called on to make as many tackles.

Lawrence is a huge surprise to me but you've made a great point about him pressuring halves, no-one else in the squad does that.

Kick pressure as well, which was non-existent against Titans.

When Brian Kelly caught that short kick-off, and had both arms above his shoulders, Joey should have broken about 5 ribs like in the old times.

Wests Tigers Coach Michael Maguire has made a number of changes for his side’s Round 5 clash against the Canberra Raiders at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday night.

After a last-start defeat to the Gold Coast Titans in Round 4, Wests Tigers will field a new-look halves combination in Round 5 with Josh Reynolds returning to the side at five-eighth alongside halfback Luke Brooks.

Tommy Talau and Russell Packer will both play their first games of the year, while Zane Musgrove also returns to the starting side with Thomas Mikaele shifting back to the bench.

Michael Chee Kam joins the side for his first game since Round 2 while veteran forward Chris Lawrence moves in to the run-on side in place of Luke Garner.

Benji Marshall, Billy Walters, Corey Thompson join Luke Garner as reserves in the 21-man squad, which will be reduced to 19 players at 7:35pm, Friday.

Final team lists will be confirmed one hour prior to kickoff (6:35pm, Saturday).

1 Adam Doueihi - (On notice needs to run for 80 mins nil effort final try Titans)
2 David Nofoaluma - Good in patches and can create tries.
3 BJ Leilua - Should be having a big game against his former team
4 Moses Mbye - Lucky to hold position - Drop next week if poor
5 Tommy Talau - New blood lets see how he goes has to be better than Jennings

6 Josh Reynolds - the controversy king given a chance
7 Luke Brooks - Take ownership, improve running and kicking game

8 Josh Aloiai - Warranted become a pack leader
9 Harry Grant - Play for 80 minutes
10 Zane Musgrove - Show size and power
11 Luciano Leilua - More hard running break tackles.
12 Chris Lawrence - Show that you deserve a starting spot still.
13 Alex Twal - Warranted because of defense

14 Thomas Mikaele - More hard running
15 Russell Packer - Get in there faces for 20/30 mins
16 Micheal Chee-Kam - Cover spot required be a hero again
17 Alex Seyfarth - Unsure why selected Madge's call.

18 Benji Marshall - Dropped but not forgotten, rest up not in peace.
19 Billy Walters - Keep working hard still in the mix.
20 Luke Garner - Others now given chance, earn yours back.
21 Corey Thompson - Speculation where when what team, your performance against Newcastle warrants being dropped, AD still shaky.

In reality i can't see us beating the raiders but stranger things have happened this last round, at least players know Madge is not afraid to made significant changes to the team when we play like we should win instead of playing to win.
Madge gets a tick for being bold.
Based upon this i can't see that Eisenhuth, Jennings, McQueen, Taylor being offered contracts to stay in 2021.

@Mighty_Tigers forget the start of that sentence, as that was someone else's opinion. But I do agree that it's more tactical for helping our whole team with match fitness. Therefore, think that'd be the last train of thought for someone like Madge.
As one of the current coaches who played for Sheens....he seems more like the left field type though. And even if I'm wrong he's certainly giving things a bit of a shake up.

Well if the halves don’t perform this week surely Brooks will be dropped ?

Lawrence over Garner is a deadset stitch up

Good to see Reynolds Talau and cheeks get a run ..packer as well !

Hopefully Jennings has applied for a gig at Bunnings...good riddance !

Why?

Is Garner immune. he did not play well.

Garner runs harder and he can catch a ball .

There is more punch to the team, however, I would have kept a spot in the 17 for Ollie Clark. If you watch the time he was on the field, I don't think the Titans put on many points at all. He was nearly spewing when he came off the field, so there is no doubting his commitment to the team.

Exactly my thinking. He's been good for the past 2 weeks

Media already trying to create drama about Madge dropping Benji. Some rubbish about how Benji always defends maguires coaching style and if he’s upset by being dropped he won’t do it anymore.

Tigers can’t do anything without criticism in the media can they?

Well Benji works for FOX so of course the media are going to be critical for him being dropped although it was warranted. There were 5 dropped and no one is talking about Jennings, Garner, Walters, Clark......
I am sure that Benji is mature enough to not be critical of Madge and this is another beat up story???
Benji will be back after a rest and if the other halves don't perform, as there is no i in team and he knows it being a stalwart.
Some others in the team should be worried this week as well, Mybe is one.

Nine had the story on the news about Benji being dropped.

No mention of the other 5. Can't spoil a good story.

benji was on 360 today and didn’t have a crack at Madge at all. Was very appreciative of his honesty and wanrpted to get back in the team.
