Game 50 for Luciano this week. Crazy how quickly Madge has changed him as a player. Went from an unfit impact player who played 20 mins to a reliable 80 minute player who does all the tough stuff as well as scoring tries.

Love his energy on the field too, really happy we signed him.

Disagree.

He was used as an impact player off the bench at Saints.

However I saw him play quite a few games of 80 minutes and he was fit and one of their top defenders, who offloaded quite a bit.

Madge is just playing him 80 minutes all the time and stopped most of the off loads.

He has him slightly fitter (I emphasize slightly fitter), that is all I will give Madge credit for.

He was no where near one of their top defenders. Routinely got caught out in defence especially when he played longer minutes for dragons because his fitness wasn’t there. Is a much more well rounded and balanced player now. He’s dropped a good ten kilos easy.

Just when I watched him play for dragons really. When he came over a lot of people were questioning his fitness and defence as well.

Seriously, not a chance. He's our best winger, but would not be a serious contender for Origin imo.

You don't pay wingers to be good defenders. You pay them to score amazing tries, make line breaks and ruck the ball up from deep in their own half, and he's a gun that way.

You don’t pay wingers to defend? You definitely do. Plenty of great attacking wingers have been dropped because they can’t defend in the NRL. The best wingers can do both, I will say since that horrible knights game Nofa has been a lot better defensively. Good winger but not at that origin level like some other guys.

To me this game is it...
Coach made some cuts and shocked a lot of people but made the decision base on defence and team culture. For the last 2 weeks I think our defence has been a massive positive considering it was against Raiders ( who normally kills us) and a cowboys team with lot of rep players. I am not concerned about the 2nd half last week as we lost 2 players before halftime and another one in the 2nd half which leaves us with 1 fit player on bench.. The game is fast enough with full reserves and we held on unlike past teams and that says we are changing..

What I like the most is that the players were still not happy with the WIN and upset about losing the 2nd half. Dogs are going to be a hard team to beat as they have plenty to play for and coach wants to keep his job so hope we are switched on for 80 mins.

A critical part of the game at the moment is momentum. A lot of games have high completion rates for both side and it is very conservative, especially in the first half. Nofo has grabbed the momentum from nothing several times this year with intercepts and lines breaks. It is a matter of risk verses reward and Nofo is definitely worth the risk at the moment. Players that create something out of nothing add huge value.

that was cause BJ chucked a wobbly , the team were apparently told the season was cancelled just before the game ( they’re professional players ,I know right?), and the leiluas and benji , together didn’t work . I know he sucked catching bombs, but yea I don’t really blame him for that
