Wests Tigers Team v Penrith Rd 16

Just caught Benji on 360, talking about the players taking ownership for their effort, their defense, their poor kicking options. Does he not know what ownership is, or the word their for that matter. It was his lack of effort, his poor defence and his poor kicking options. Delusional, Riff 62 Tiger 4

i know this isn't v penrith but saw this on tigers website

Madden will remain on a Development contract in 2020 — where he trains full-time but is ineligible for first-grade until after Round 16 — before moving in to the NRL squad proper in 2021.

wonder if he's a chance next week. Would be tough to debut and get 80 put on ya

Development players have been eligible all season they changed the rule because of COVID

Maguire isn’t a fan or Reynolds. And so as long as Reynolds is here, Maguire will want another option. It’s the only reason he’s stuck with Marshall imo.

He’s not alone in that opinion

Channel 9 news spinning the narrative that this might be a revenge match for Penrith because of Joeys swinging arm on Edwards completely ignoring our two players hospitalised due to dog shots in the same game including Joeys brother.

I really wish someone at the club would have the stones to call this out.

I hope Joey has a blinder. Crichton is a beast in attack but suspect in defence hopefully Benji actually gives Joey room to run and doesn’t come across field constantly

I'd rather have Momerovski in the. right centre position. I have a feeling the Panthers' game plan will involve Leilua throwing his toys out of the sandpit. We've gone backwards with his signing.

Joey has his brain snaps but he can do things no one else can. That try he scored to get us level against dogs was awesome and there’s no way Momirovski is scoring it.

When we signed Joey this is exactly what I suspected. He’ll have his brain snaps but he’ll score and set up some great tries. I don’t think he’s lazy out on the field either, just stupid ? he works out of our own end and he doesn’t miss tackles from laziness just mis reads like Nofa.

I don’t think he’s taken us backwards but after his contract is up he’ll be moved on for sure

I agree he can do things no one else can. Unfortunately not always for the betterment of the team.

Yeah, it's all shallow words that he's (most WTs players) very used to throwing around. The only thing he owns are plenty of investment properties compliments of WTs.

The season is shot.

Despite the negativity towards Benji on this forum, I reckon he is still a fan favourite. There is nothing to be gained by dropping him. I reckon most Tiger's fans would like to see him play his career out in first grade.

Without reserve grade games behind him the risk of introducing Madden this year is too great, and in any event you would be reluctant to drop him in against this opposition.

Although I respect the guy, I agree with the comments that JR should be shelved and encouraged to move on.

At this stage of the game it is understandable to allow Benji to play out the season. But it should be his last.

Thank you! a wise post indeed!

Whats the point in dropping Benji to bring in who?, Reynolds?, like Benji, he too is not our future and the sooner he is out of our plans the better. That leaves Madden, to bring him in for his NRL debut against the Panthers is selection suicide... When our season is officially shot and the pressure is off then bring in Madden for one or two of the last 4 games...

How does any club who might be even remotely interested in Reynolds / Packer / McQueen get to see what value they are if they don't play ....

Especially when they play, they don't play.

x2 The savvy tigers out there use Fantasy Football as an emotional hedge. Why didn't I start it sooner?

Nofoaluma has been in my sides since rd 1...smashing it..

Nuffie has run more meters than anyone in the NRL from sideline to sideline?

Leading TRY scorer too..

3rd in tackle breaks..

Nuffie is great, if only he could tackle, he would be the ultimate NRL winger if he could just stay in his line and defend!

Yes ..I'm sure that will stop teams coming through the guts of the fearless Wests Tigers..

Not a fan of MBYE still in that Team, I suppose 850K is hard to remove. The rest of the Team is the best we can put on the Field, but we lack that big mobile forward to come on after 25 and keep the momentum going.

That's Madges way of moving them on
If you love football and you want to play then you better find another team to play for
Cause your unlikely to play here

I agree, he's the only consistently legitimate threat in our backline. Anyone who doubts this should pay attention to how many bodies the defence commits to him. BJ needs to play every week to build his game, not spend weeks on the sideline.

If we get the rest of the team firing, then we see the higher value of BJ.

That’s up to Doueihi and a few times he’s found that cutout pass to Nofa because the opposition is worried about Joey close to the line

Listened to Madge interview against the panthers.
One like to actually listen to what the questions are from the media can hardly hear them.
It all sounds like a broken record from prior weeks, and i am sure there are questions that are not allowed to be asked.

Is this Benji's last season?
What players are you looking at moving on?
You have 1 more year to run on your contract are you looking for a renewal?

I think you'll find it is a WT trait, talking the talk, again and again and again until holiday time in September. Yay!
