Wests Tigers Team v Penrith Rd 18

Not that impressed with our cup team who have conceded over 500 pts this year but a couple of keepers for our 30 squad Pole ,Matamua and junior Tupou .and Rua and I'm assuming NuBrown already a regular 1st grader

Moving JH to lock is not the way to do it imo.
I could be wrong but moving JH to lock weakens our team and is he happy in that position if he's wanting an extention?

I don't see Hastings going to lock as a long term option. I also think Matamua looks like a really good option for the lock forward position longer term.

Longer term I can't see Brooks and Doueihi both being in the team unless Doueihi goes to the centres which I doubt. I think they should both fight it out for the 6 spot and get rid of the one who doesn't perform assuming either of them are good enough.

The question then becomes is Hastings the right guy for the 7 position. What about Madden ?

I'd try both Doueihi and Brooks at fullback as well. I know Doueihi played there and he was deemed too slow but he made busts, is safe under the high ball and can belt it up.

It's all a mess. I got no idea and I don't think any punter or anyone at the club has any idea either.

The only clear cut spine position to me is Api next year and Brown this year. Brown gives really good utility value and I'd give him a contract but does that mean we have too many dummy halves/utility players at the club.

Yep that's what I was eluding to Earl.
WT should treat it as a trial. Give all the combos a serious trial.
The only problem is the unsettling on the team who's under pressure to perform.
Getting the wooden spoon will be another nail in the coffin.

No, I think we’ll win. We did last year and we were no worse.
The KOE Panthers are pretty similar to last year when we took them on. Though they had Burton, Chrichton, Momiroski last time, they did miss Leota and played May at halfback.
This year Tago is in the centres rather than debuting (better than momiroski)
Taylan May (Better winger than Jennings)
O’Sullivan and Falls, (an actual halves pairing)
And their bench of Sorenson, Saelmon, Leinu and Luke (Hooker replacement) for Kenny. Is far stronger than last years,
Saelmon, Hopgood, Smith and Tago.

Then looking at our side, it’s really hard to make a case as to whether we are an improvement on last years team that beat them last year.

It was a close game until Liddle ran the length of the field and his not even in the side this week.

Who cares about getting the spoon. We are already dead last. This year to me was always about figuring out who our halves should be.

The problem to me is we don't know who our fullback should be as well.

I suppose trialing them means we can state well they aren't or are good enough. At least you can make better decisions going forward.

Exactly, it's not just trialling to see who fits best where, it's about who gets extensions.
The reason I mentioed the spoon is because this is a business.
Sponsors and the club itself need success, and getting the spoon will again cause media scrutiny and maybe further unrest in the club.
We need to attract players as well so if we can start winning it will help with recruiting imo.
So as I said we are dammed if we do and dammed if we don't.

Winning a few games and recruiting a couple of top class forwards is so urgent . Win a couple recruit a couple and momentum will start turning

Nofo out not good what is illness? Don't think I'd pair tupou and kepoa side by side could be weak side defensively why not put garner as one center?

AJ was a stand out in cup last week.
Scoring some tries.

Although, I must say - he didn't appear very involved.

Hoping he goes to another level, playing grade tomorrow... he's up against Jennings?

Our pack has one guy playing his 2nd ever nrl game and another first game this year as forward and our back 5 look a bit fragile defensively .hope I'm wrong but can't see a repeat of last year . We are missing almost as many as panthers
