Bit disappointed in this side at fullback Thompson is not up to it at this level and Lawrence in the 17 ,in front of mck and yes they give 100% but we can’t be serious along with Jennings in the side really

I was sort of the same but when I read that Thompson has been training for FB all off-season I thought, “ok, let’s see what he brings.”
But when Mbye returns I can’t think of any option other than Doueihi to FB and Thompson to wing

I am still not sold on Doueihi yet!

I don’t remember his games for Souths really so my excitement is based on other people’s eyes. I liked what I saw briefly at Penrith. I like Thompson’s tenacity but if he’s going to be our 1 he has to do a lot more because courage is not enough.
I’m hoping Doueihi is a revelation. We need strike and class.

I think the plan is for Elijah and Twally to hold down the middle with their strong defence to start the half with Aloiai still provides impact - then when all the bench forwards come on ours will dominate the dragons and that’s when we will probably score our points

My only concern, and I freely admit to being a fan not an analyst, is our potential enforcers are both starting from the bench. I’d start either Musgrove or Mikaele and have the other on the bench. But I’m pretty sure Madge knows a bit more than me so no worries!

I think that’s why Aloiai is starting he runs harder than any of our props

Another thing - obviously our right side attack is our strongest side, but with Lafai and Ravalawa defending on the other side we could well score points down that edge. Both poor in defence and Doueihi has good enough hands to put Jennings away close to the line

But does he intimidate? Mate, watching Musgrove in 2 trials - he intimidates! But yeah, Aloiai certainly can bend the line

i said jennings was an absolute lock
i think after 4 rounds AD to fullback Momo to centre
then shoot out defensively Nofo Mr UNreliable and Thommo
Jennings to have a really good solid year i think

So your saying our top line center will be potentially playing reserves after 4 rounds?

You said before Grant was coming if thats the case Momo is gone as well. You’re not being consistent with what you’re saying kiddo.

Agree 100% mate, I was happy when we signed Doueihi and I'm happy for him to play fullback as I don't believe Thompson is a fullback, but all this is based on the opinion of others on here. I really want to see make the position his own and play as a modern fullback because I feel that is critical to our success moving forward!

You are right but this is Musgrove's first NRL game in 2 years, so starting from the bench is a given. Mikaele is still a little too raw to start in my opinion, but I think we will see this all develop over the first 8 rounds of the season!

Can play Fullback but he's also here as a potential 5/8 or Half replacement for when Benji retires. Kids gonna be the goods no matter where he plays for us.

Other saying this is what I am basing my hope on, just haven't seen it yet though!

Must admit I'm surprised neither Ollie or Huthie are in our Top 17

Makes for a strong CC front row.

I view him as a prop and one of our best when it comes to hit-ups. Mikaele and Musgrove will also give us good hit-ups.

Don’t bend the line enough, and Madge likes aggressive forwards.

The whisper is Matherson Johns and Kane Bradley will be the right edge after round 6 or 7, Doueihi fullback with the Momo - Grant swap a done deal. All three quarters over six foot two and 100 kilos except Nofo.

Who is whispering that? Bradley hasn't even played a trial and while I think Matheson Johns has potential, he's going to have to dominate in CC to earn a call up.

And possibly NRL Contracts might help I dunno

And does that mean we move BJ and co to the left edge??

I expect Mikaele to return to the bench eventually.
That's where he benefits us the most.

Obvs we are a prop short.
But yeah Musgrove is the real deal.
