Fox Sports late mail has Asu Kepaoa named in reserves instead of Jennings. But NRL site has Jennings. Maybe just a typo from fox sports or do they know something we don’t ?https://apple.news/AYydurT8nQuayYQYQ6QJolQ

I hope it’s true

Where has this concern of needing a player on the bench to cover injuries come from all of a sudden. In all my years on the forum, it’s never been an issue. Now it is, and it’s a player whose been a forum punching bag for nearly a decade. Coincidentally, it’s so he replaces the other forum punching bag. The one who it’s more fashionable to hate on in 2020. Because hating on Lawrence is so 2016 now.

Carrying a utility/outside back on the bench has become very popular amongst NRL coaches. When your props are able to play more and more minutes it’s not a bad idea. Storm, Roosters, Raiders, Penrith all do it. I think the only top 5 team who doesn’t is eels

We do have one. Apparently no one cares if a half goes down. But imperative we have someone can cover the outside backs, despite the fact we can easily reshuffle like the majority of other teams do.

Depends on the team I guess. If you have second rowers that can cover centre fairly well then it’s probably better to carry a half on the bench which most teams seem to prefer however there can be cases for having a centre/winger on the bench too.

For us, if we aren’t running 4 forwards it’s better to run a half on the bench considering we have Lawrence, Garner and MCK who can all cover the centres quite well

I would be throwing Brooks into dummy half when Harry comes off. Perfect opportunity atm to see how he handles it. New rules could really suit him late in the game.
He plays best running the ball and playing whats in front of him. He's no good at preempting and setting up plays.
Would be an experiment worth a go imo

Exactly..
What side has a halfback on the bench ?

Got to get more out of the number 14 no matter who it is. If we just had a forward that could play centre then we could always have four forwards on the bench.

That will be Rowdy next week

Could that be BJ? I think he could devastating as a edge forward. He would add more impact off the bench and if I am being honest, he doesn’t look like the fittest hombre to ever grace a field.

I am sure Madge will have BJ raring to go as a centre next week, I think we will see a better version of BJ next week

Perhaps but I do feel more confident with Rowdy there in terms of defence

Doubly so if you switched him to the other side.

With Blore on the bench, Garner can cover centre if there is an injury and Blore can go into the 2nd row.

I would say that Blore will take Garners spot in the 2nd row at some point and Garner can be the bench player that covers 2nd row and centre and possibly even lock

Would need to improve his defence heaps to do that.

I think Madge should make a couple of changes before the game.
Douiehi
Nofoaluma
Mbye
Talau
Jennings
Brooks
Marshall
McIntyre
Leilua
Garner
Aloiai
Grant
Twal
Bench
Reynolds
Lawrence
Blore
Mikaele
In’s
Reynolds
Jennings
Outs
Walters
Clark

Totally disagree, unless you want to lose the game.

Last week Lawrence cost more points in attack than he saved in defence, he has to go. Defence can be coached.

That's ridiculous.

What has that to do with Garner and his shonky defence.

For example: A player that saves 2 tries (8 points) but bombs 3 tries (12 points) does more harm than good.

Watch Lawrence in the last game he bombed a certain try by not passing to Nofo, and there were several other occasions when he bombed attacking runs. By not passing, by not seeing his unmarked team mates and by not getting rid of the ball when catching a kick or going himself when there were better options.
Lawrence was done 2 years ago, I am not a fan of Jennings but at this point he is a better option, so is the new kid that has had no training with the team.

Rowdy set up an over lap Twice then realised Nuffie was no where to be seen OPPS ! A wing spot could be available soon ...

Nofo was doing his job, taking an early hit up. He can't be in both places at once.

Your ridiculous post insinuates he was doing something wrong and your name calling is pretty weak too Alan.

No. Nof was most definitely out of position. And it cost us dearly. It wasn't play 2, it was towards the end of the set. He should be on his wing. That's his primary job.
