Do players care about this stuff? No. Do players care about the constant media attention that stuff like this brings? Certainly. Luai has probably seen more news about the WT's infighting & board in one month than he would've seen about Penriths board the last 6-7 years he's been there.

That was a great opportunity for Julie to brief us on the progress of the review recommendations and boardroom personnel movement. Doing a quick headcount we know there are members missing from both HBG and WT boards.
I realise there’s no obligation for her or Simon to provide any detail, but keeping stakeholders in the dark has a more unnecessary negative impact. Some self disclosure and progress report may have been more helpful.

Smart move from Shane Richardson. I don't buy for one minute that it is one big happy family behind closed doors, but he has flushed out any potential skullduggery by extracting a public commitment from key HBG players. If they reneg on any implementation of the review recommendations, their duplicity would be confirmed for all to see, rather than just implied or suspected, and then the gloves can come off. I get the impression Richo and BOF have all of the other actors well and truly covered.

He has put the spotlight HARD on her and the board to get the independent board appointed.

What a play - hats off.

Now if Julia even slightly deviates from the report, she'll have egg on her face and unlike before - she won't have the comfort of anonymity.

I don’t think that’s the case at all .
I think that Gary ,Steve and Joel started all this at the end of 2023 with thier petition , and feel a personal responsibility to see it through to the end .
They needed outside advocates (rob , spartan , Adrian, the tiger town podcast) to get different voices on this issue , to add nuance .
That’s what happened . I firmly believe that , as I know the anger towards the most important review points -ie. the independents was taking a long time , and the guys were not happy about it in August .
I actually they’ve alienated themselves a little from the club , because they did start the petition , and rightly or wrongly have positioned themselves as not being a podcast that delivers the corporate message of the Wests tigers .
That’s my opinion , based on conversations I’ve had about this topic privately for a year or two . The petition itself was mentioned as an option mid last year , but the guys sat on it for 6 months in hope .
Did they go off early ? Or did them making noise force HBG to hurry up ?
I dunno and it doesn’t matter . The ends justify the means

Idk who the hell wants to be starting petitions and dealing with haters on here who think that fans don’t have a right to voice their opinion’s especially considering we have won 3 spoons, and the directors who started the review have all been punted.

As I said - since the petition and leak of debenture holder names to the media HBG have issued 2 statements and now we have Julie on camera stating she supports the WT and the review

Mission done.

Your knowledge is wrong ! The reason people care about the HBG governance is because of the talk of Dennis and Julie wanting to roll back the recommendations of the review .
This noise has been whispered about for about a year now . And only due to the events of the 3 being removed has this escalated .
To be fair to everyone it’s obvious that Ricky and Tony created all this noise to service thier own agenda , but 2 things can true at once . They had an agenda , but the things they’re saying are true as well .
And because of all this noise , which as been going on about a year now C has everyone demanded finally that all this shit be put to bed .
Dennis Burgess 💯 has said to multiple people in the last year that he wanted to bring back the magpies . Was it tongue in cheek ? Feeling himself because the crowds were back after 20 years at Campbelltown ? Maybe ….. has Balmain used this opportunity to remind everyone they’re still here … maybe ….. but the issue is this; anyone who was apart of the shit show of the last 14 years in governance cannot be trusted . Balmain , magpies , wests tigers .
And everyone is 💯 wary of anyone who wants to even remotely insinuate returning to those guys , whether joking or not .

Anybody gloating about this outcome has completely misunderstood the whole debate in the first place . On either side of the debate .
This was always the only acceptable outcome .
And for the final time on this, Julie and the club could have put this to bed when Gary Barnier brought all this up around may.
The fact it’s taken a whole bunch of drama and push to review her position , is either completely coincidental or not .
It doesn’t matter .No one ever really gave a shit about HBG . Now the reviews coming to completion they can all fade back to the background and enjoy thier champagne in the corporate box .
