Brilliant post. There’s heaps of people within that junior district who are young enough to offer fresh new ideas , yet old enough to do it in a sensible and wise manner .
The hypocrisy of the Balmain board members , literally presiding over a pile of ashes , criticising the HBG for thier shady dealings is hilarious .
No one even knows anything about the Balmain board , how you get on it , how you affect change , how to even run an opposing ticket .
And then you have wests Cambo , who wash thier hands of the whole thing, because 20 odd years ago the club decided it wasn’t the right time to push into that area, ( I honestly think it was the right decision at that time).
Where the tigers messed up , badly IMO, is when the whole Camden valley way corridor and the farmland out there was rezoned for residential housing C and the selling off of Oran Park Racecourse , they didn’t recognise early the strategic advantage of getting hearts and minds early .
Now it all feels like the club is playing catchup , especially because Souths and the roosters have minor footprints out there .
It always seems that this club awaits for change to happen then make a decision , often real late to the party , rather than being forward thinking .
And I honestly think a big reason for that is the “back in my day” group think that happens at all 4 board levels.
Even that Hayward debenture guy , whilst he appeared a gentlemen , he didn’t strike me as being progressive at all , and that there was an undercurrent of resentment and almost begrudgingly he’d come to his more progressive ideas.
I think new blood is needed at all the board levels . And honestly a new generation should be brought through.
How many guys on these boards are under 55 ? Is there any ?
This whole thing is extremely ironic when you consider that 20 years ago , the wests tigers innovated and changed the way the game was played with smart , progressive colouring between the lines footy.
We just never could find a way to transition that ideology to the board rooms.
Julie was very quiet. Shame noone asked if the reports she threatened to get lawyers involved if Barry held a Wests Tigers board meeting without her approval were true. She would never go on one of the pods on here. She'd get minced. No doubt she's eating a bit of humble pie now. As long as we're independant I don't really care she can drive HBG into the ground. As long as we're left alone.Wests Tigers CEO Shane Richardson is joined by Wests Tigers Interim Chair Barry O’Farrell, Holman Barnes Group CEO Simon Cook, and Holman Barnes Group Chair Julie Romero.
If that's the way you choose to look at it, then I guess your answer is yes. What would that be?
Perennial losers.
lolIf that's the way you choose to look at it, then I guess your answer is yes.
But I choose to look at our situation with a more positive outlook, in defence of our board atpit.
I happen to believe things are coming together nicely now, particularly as the 3 rebels are gone and I don't see any chance of a return for the 2 leading rebels.
Can the organisers of this latest destabilising action prove to everyone on here that what has been said about the board is completely and utterly true?
I reckon the answer to that is no.
So that leaves room for some doubt about anything that has been claimed Imo.
That then leaves room to suggest that the current action is happening for questionable reasons.
Results are the same but the club is in a far stronger position.Dead farking last again isn't as bad a position as the first petition?
I couldn't agree with you more Spartan. There's a lot of pressure for "Whistle Blowers", it takes a lot of courage.
Absolutely mate. It's great the club has come out and rubbished all these claims. I have no doubtWould really like some footy to start personally
2 statements and a podcast replyng to the accusations.lol
Since the petition came out and debenture holders named
HBG have issued two public statements
WT have conducted one podcast with Julie and Co
1 debenture holder has spoken out against Julie and the other 3 saying he thinks they’re actions are “questionable”
All in the space of ONE week!
We wanted to put Julie and Co in a position that they had to stand by so they couldn’t maneuver behind the scenes.
It’s called strategically boxing them in.
They’ve done that (kind of) - yes words are cheap but much harder for them to even mention brining magpies back or not implementing the review.
Congrats to @Joel Helmes and his team
Mission accomplished.
Anyone doubting it - once again - 2 statements and a podcast with Julie fronting up. (Even if she only spoke for 30 seconds lol)
not far off mate. Junior Reps in a little under a month with first grade trials a fortnight later.Would really like some footy to start personally

Hats off the richo for getting them all in a room for
us to see. I suppose the petition moved the needle
a bit too. Talk is cheap, we'll see before season 2025
starts if this is fluff & whether they're serious about
making these appointments (before a ball is kicked).
OK.Yeah they’ve built Wests Tigers into one of the most unsuccessful and embarrassing sporting organisations in the country.
My original post that contained the deleted word was serious, but the deleted word was not, being the reason, I followed the deleted word with a winking emoji [also deleted] hoping you would understand. Not sure that is a compliment.
Why would it be fluff , Richo has said from day 1 he would walk … and reiterated in the podcast
I would take it face value , BOF and himself don’t need to make up shit, they can survive without this gig.
I always wondered where that dent in my car came from, now I know...thank you Lestronge 🙂 .I’d argue , and it would be a pretty compelling argument , that the any success the nrl team has had , which is barely anything at all , has been in spite of the “old brigade” , not because .
LOL you do realise that the reason for all the discontent is that there’s been no success ? Imagine having a car accident that you were at fault , and being like “well if it wasn’t for me it would have been way worse “
Mate ! You caused the accident in the first place !!!
I don't believe Julie... She looks like she got dragged
out of bed 2 b there. Richo said 95% of the work is done,
only thing essentially left is to appoint the independent
directors. This is what I meant by fluff, fingers crossed!
