That was my point,
I replied in relation to the Rozelle site as it was mentioned as part of the debt buyout.
How Wests would be 'Buying' a site that didn't (And still doesn't) Exist
- That Balmain already sold and will never own (To be leased) is beyond me?

At best, There was probably an understanding the WA would put a Leagues Club at the site if it ever happens in the name of Wests Tigers (As they own it - And it's not like Balmain is ever going to be in a financial position to build a new club)

I thought it was the Markets or Five Dock Clubs Wests took over
(I also remember there being some kefuffle on Balmain Selling off Pokies and not telling anyone involved - Don't remember the exact details)
The Five Dock club wasnt profitable. That actually closed its doors before the Amalgamation happened.

Balmain sold off a large number of Pokie Entitlements when Danny Munk was CEO of Balmain Leagues Club. The "kerfuffle" was that the entitlements were sold via a broker, who happened to be.....drum roll....Danny Munk.

The board were aware of this, and was documented at the time ..so no secrecy. But the fact the CEO personally benefitted from a strategy he came up with, is a massive conflict of interest, and just one more example of poor decision making by the members of the board of directors of the Balmain Leagues Club.

Another example of why the Wests Tigers need separation from the ownership group.

The boards of both Wests and Balmain have both been embarrassing for far too long. That's why they don't have any role to play on our board

An example that anyone holding a Balmain TRLFC membership should rail up against their current board (many are ex members of Balmain Rugby Leagues club)
They weren’t even holding AGM’s according to reports, I’m sure Balmain offer the WT little to none also, fans have just had it up to here with ineffective owners, regardless of which side you supported last century.

The board of Wests has led a growing and profitable leagues club, bailed Wests Tigers out to the tune of $11m in recent years and is subsidizing Balmain Juniors football club.

How are they "embarrassing" exactly?
By thinking they're competent in running an NRL club and Flooding the Wests Tigers board as
well with their leagues 'Club' Board Members.

They've have run a mostly shit football team for 25 years and won us the second most Wooden Spoons in that time, Have the 2nd worst winning percentage of all the Current NRL Clubs (Behind the Titans who've played Finals more than us),
We've have made the finals the least amount of times in the NRL era.
I would hazard a guess we've also had the most coaches of any NRL club in the last decade?

They're embarrassing themselves by involving themselves in a role running an NRL club when it's bleatingly obvious they're not qualified.

I am looking forward to the new Wests Tigers football club board
Chair - Barry. We got that so far
Balmain - has to be a new guy , no Stapleton
Wests - has to be a new guy. , no Dennis or Julie
Ashfield - again just has to be a new guy no ex directors please
Independent- unca Nick type
Independent- money man
Independent- marketing guru , but a gun

My issue will they let Richo down before end January , he drove the point at the raw pod , Boxed Romero and co in with no wiggle room , be interesting , my tip won’t happen fully they will come up with the top 4 above with 3 independent noms to come , Burgess will be on I feel as well

How are they "embarrassing" exactly?
Because they're run by unqualified buffoons who shoot their mouth off and just want to make themselves seem important. The recent bans are a the perfect example of how none of them, the banned or the banners should have any role in a professional organisation. They behave like they're auditioning for an upcoming release of Mean Girls.

Wests Ashfield has poker machines. That's it. The board have done nothing to make the club profitable, just encouraged locals to throw away their income in horrific gambling addictions. What will Wests Ashfield do when the government cracks down on pokies? There's a reason Richo is trying to make the club financially sustainable and remove the need for the < $1mil contribution they currently provide.

I was looking to signup as a member, however their ONLY form of paying to become a member was to put my full credit card, expiry and cvc details on to a piece of paper and email or post it to them! Highly unprofessional, possibly even illegal these days. Anyone could intercept this and use my card as they like, totally unsecure. This may have been ok in the 80s or 90s but things have come a long way since then however both Balmain and Wests haven't.

Just another reason why neither should have anything to do with a professional club other than token legend history events with punters. Have a beer with blocker etc.
