Fitzgibbon made a great back and passed to no.6 who dropped the ball with no one in front. It wasn’t the best pass but it was catchable

Are you joking? It was a shocking pass. He shows potential but his defence needs a lot of work and if he can’t pass from left to right he needs to do a lot more practicing BUT at least he looked.

I will say he made a nice break in the first half from dummy half and there were a couple of times he received a pass behind him with the line wide open. Could have ended up with 2 tries at least - I think he is a work in progress.

The pass was to the hooker and should have been caught, the pass wasn't the best but it is one I'd hope the players still catch.

That’s rubbish. It was straight at his knees and hard. I happened to be almost right in line.

Clearly he needs to work on his left to right passing. And for the hooker to be upset - yes I would be too at this level. Nothing wrong with expecting better when you’re competitive.

Mate it wasn't knee height, if I dropped that pass I would be dirty on myself not the guy who passed it.

Ok - let’s agree to disagree. My first thoughts were what a shocking pass with the line wide open.

Also, let’s agree that Allan shows enough talent to go the next level. He is still young enough and he maybe he just needs more time. I’d like nothing more to see him do well - youth is quite often the key.

It wasn’t that bad. It was definitely catchable.

One issue I have with that play is the player who dropped it looked straight to Fitzgibbon to blame him for the pass. One of very few disappointments from the day.

Yes he did and I agree that was very disappointing.

Wests Tigers young guns torch Sea Eagles in Leichhardt Oval thrashing..

Impressive Tigers defeat Manly
By Marc Churches18:26

The Wests Tigers will head into round one of NRL premiership season full of confidence following a 52-18 thrashing over the Manly Sea Eagles at Leichhardt Oval.

It was the Tigers young guns who stepped up today, with recruit Daine Laurie leading the way with two tries, while Adam Doueihi, Asu Kepaoa and Tommy Talau also crossed the stripe.

But it was Laurie who was arguably the most-promising sight for Tigers fans after the club recently secured the 21-year-old's services via a player swap with Penrith.

Laurie, who lined up at fullback today, joined the club last month after the Tigers agreed to send centre Paul Momirovski to the Panthers.

"He might get a hell of a lot of first grade this year," Dan Ginnane told Fox League."This is some start for him."This is what fans want from trials - some really exciting things to look forward to. Daine Laurie has given fans something really exciting."

The Tigers, who will be hoping to return to finals footy for the first time since 2011, took to the field with a near full-strength squad, which included the likes of off-season recruits James Tamou, James Roberts and Joe Ofahengaue. While halfback Luke Brooks, along with Doueihi, Alex Twal, Luciano Leilua and Luke Garner, all regulars last season, featured today in front of their home fans.

Despite a disappointing performance from the Sea Eagles, coach Des Hasler won't lose too much sleep after fielding a team without the likes of superstars Daly Cherry-Evans, Kieran Foran and Jake Trbojevic.

The Sea Eagles were also missing fullback Tom Trbojevic, who was recently ruled out with a hamstring injury and isn't expected to be fit until at least round four. Kieran Foran, Dylan Walker and Jason Saab also didn't feature for the club today.

In some unfortunate news for the Sea Eagles, they will be sweating on scans to hooker Cade Cust who was forced to leave the field during the first half, with what appeared to be a wrist injury.

I reckon Madge is trying to shop Mbye around as we speak. He has no place.

Can't agree. He will be key to cover injuries.

I thought it was about hip height, it certainly wasn’t on his chest, but still very catchable.

Rd 1 Mbye at 6 ......better defensive player and will handle the increased defensive work load ....Laurie at 1 more room to use his speed and agility ......another no brainer really

Yep low pass around waist height that he should have caught.

Yeah at this point I don't see Laurie as a 5/8th, but think he is probably our best fullback.

Imagine how many points we would have scored if that other five eighth was still playing for us. What was his name again?

Douehi has to be the team after rd1 for mine and he looked very comfortable at 5/8

Luci and AD are the potential superstars this club needs. Brooks also classy. The whole pack looks hungry and fit. Weak opposition today and it’ll be much tougher in two weeks but good signs.

The forward pack wasnt weak. Apart from Jake T that was a full strength forward pack.

People are undervaluing our dominance through the middle today.

Yeah at this point I don't see Laurie as a 5/8th, but think he is probably our best fullback.

I watched Laurie following Lucy all day today and that combination is going to score thousands. His go is to always be close to the ball and take advantage of offloads, even that quick play the ball when he scored. He's always close enough to be involved so he needs that roving fullback role rather than be slotted at 5/8.

They were missing Aloiai ...sorry let me rephrase that ...Aloiai went missing

The bloke from Manly who has been missing was the young fella who had the shocking leg injury Magic Round in 2019 ....his name slips my mind ...was one of their best that night until injured
