Made some stuttering, I don't know what to do now, run and is not a playmakers butt hole...If we really think him playing out the back is going to "ignite" our backline, then you need to watch closer. Further, we had so many offloads in the second half and I didn't see him backing up to hit a hole...Thompson does this well and as a result makes a lot of line breaks despite his size.

On that performance, I am concerned for the NRL future of Chris Lawrence. IMO, he is in a race with ET for a bench spot, at best, and ET was better. I truly hope he has not played one season too many, as he deserves to be acknowledged as a true legend of this club. Others' thoughts?

Great bloke, great clubman....but absolutely no spot for him in our top 17 unless there are injuries.

ET miles ahead at the moment.

Only spot I can see for Lawry is Chee Kam's bench spot. MCK very ordinary. Maybe Lawry takes that spot.

It has been a long while since we had depth and it is terrific to have it now.However 3-4 key injuries will still cause us huge problems

Doueihi is going to kill it this year
He has been here 3 weeks
He was in a team of stars at South's so he couldn't stand out
Give him time to shine and he will
You may just be surprised what he can bring
I'm tipping him to score try's in the double figures this year
I also think his height will be a huge bonus for us this year
With Doueihi Momirovski and Jennings all over 190cm tall
I think you will see Doueihi take over from Benji next year but he also needs the game time this year
It's a hard decision because Thompson is underrated and is a consistent solid player
I just don't think that Corey will create opportunities like Doueihi will this year
Anyway it's Madges problem and not mine
I just want to win like the rest of us

Despite the 2 tries we can't have Nofo with his terrible defensive reads on the wing, I've seen it too many times to ignore it now, he obviously hasn't improved that part of his game .

I see this sort of comment a lot and it makes me go and take a second look.

Here's the play the ball, you can see the ruck marked and make note that Thommo has been involved in the tackle so can't be expected to cover if we slide in. Note the lines showing defenders numbered against attacker - we are already a man down - they have an overlap.

Forward a few seconds and see this.

One of the keys here is the player marking the attacking (decoy) runner is flat-footed (circled). This means he is no chance of shifting out to support. Note also this has created a gap between him and BJ.

This leave Joey and Nofo left to defend three (which they can't do) and a gap inside you could drive a car through. Nofo (I believe correctly) comes in to try and kill the play at the centre but the ball goes wide and they score.

It was a simple overlap right from the ruck - I'm not sure why the winger is blamed for it.

I'm happy to deride players when they do the wrong thing but too often people's personal dislikes for a players get in the way of reasoned analysis.

Outside this, I thought BJ went well but has a tendency to hold the ball too long. Musgrove was impressive and I was very impressed with Luciano - he could turn out to be a great buy.

I thought Grub looked solid in the halves and showed slightly better form at hooker than previous games. Walters service is great but he's a little light in defence. I don't think we had a bad player, everyone went pretty well.

Actually watch it in motion Nuffie ran infield past BJ and BJ gave him a mouthful and Nuffie responded with sorry my bad .... Nuffies fan boys honestly ?

Was clearly a poor defensive read from Nofa. There is no way you can say otherwise. Besides that Nofa played good

I think he’s used to marsters being beaten to be honest . Joey just hammers fools . Nofoaluma will drop back more if he knows his centre can do the business . I’m ok with that

You can argue Noffa made a bad read, but he made up for that with two tries, some strong runs and some good offloads. Plus him and BJ playing together is mouth watering. Got a good taste of it today.

Noffa you know what we will get 1 bad read a game mixed with hard runs, offloads and he can finish.

Issue is his bad reads are all the same panic runs where he misses everything and is almost center a try, where if he held back and gave his defensive line time to slide we stand a better chance

Wingers are coached to support their inside men(usually centre) if they run in.Today was mainly Nofos fault but quite often it isnt but he is the one who gets all the blame on here

Don't write off Jennings.

At times last year, he actually made some very good metres coming out from our own end. Hopefully now that he is a bit lighter he may bring other elements, but I think he will play a fair bit of first grade this year. I think the two wing spots could go anyway at the moment between CT, Jennings and Nof.

Jennings last year never once beat an opposing player and his post contact meters seemed almost non existent. He will need to do a lot better if he is to clam a first grade spot.

I’ll give you a stat . 3 tries to 0 in the second half.
Also , our attack , without Benji mind you , looked like it flowed more .
Also he took a lot of dirty hitups in the middle of the half .
He can also kick goals , and has a pretty good passing game .

Thommos great until we have a quick hands cutout ball over the top required (like last trialS try Doueihi Set up) . I love Thommo but he has never done that . That’s the difference . It’s not a man crush .

Shout out to Reynolds. He got absolutely crucified here after last weeks trial and rightfully so, he was awful.

Much improved performance today. And who knows after having all the off field stuff sorted out we might see a much improved man.

A lot of really impressive performances today. The only really downside was Jennings for me. I’m writing him off, he is an absolute spud.

I still have hopes for Doueihi but am yet to see anything from his career to label him a star. I’d still like to see him start at 1 and Thommo has to be on the wing over Jennings.
