Finding myself quite a bit depressed over tonight’s game. I know we are building towards the right thing but tonight’s game seemed like such a backwards step.

Madge is being patient in building the club and that’s the right thing to do but it’s hard to be patient as a fan when we’ve been poor for so long. Happy to give Madge a good 5 years to build us up but gee it’s gonna be tough until then. I’ve got faith in him though

Concerned about our spine next year, Grant will be gone, we need a 5/8 and brooks has been in poor form the last month and a bit. If he doesn’t improve we will be screwed.

Hard being a tigers supporter. I wish we were like roosters or storm always being a premiership threat. Time for bed I think before I get too much more upset ?

Next year will be the same mate

I know that’s why I’m sad ?? I know it takes time but why does it have to be so long. Like I said madge is doing it the right way just wish we could have a magic instant fix.

I think what we are all searching for in our group of players,and its pretty important if you want to win games and play finals footy.....

It’s poor recruitment and piss poor management that’s what is !

But you cant blame Madge for previous recruitment failures he is doing what he can to make this lot NRL competative,coaching good young players while trying to get the best out of the experienced ones..
You really have to look at the simplest of errors made by guys who have been at this level for a long time and they do it regularly eg ET giving penalties away MCK spilt ball first touch,Mbye rushing in defense and leaving young debutant hanging out to dry with seasoned players coming at him and I can keep going on...As soon as Madge gets a chance to clear the roster it cant come quick enough and the club will be much better for it...

Totally agree but the clubs previous piss poor management has stained the club to the point of not being able to attract seasoned pros .

And then ....
Why did Madge extend Chee Kam ?
Why did Madge give Lawrence another year ?
Why did Madge appoint Mbye as captain ?
Why does Madge persevere with Brooks at 7 ?

It’s because we’re renowned for being a basket case of a club and we cant attract big names.

And the only 1/2 decent players who’d want to come here will as usual want overs ..

Stay positive. The Tigers are building the right way. This team is physically getting into the fight with much stronger opposition. The best players are all young.it won’t happen this year but it’s the best squad we have had in a long time.

There is a core group that will be key Josh Aloai, Alex Twal, Tom Mikalele, Luciano Leilua, Adam Douihei, Stefano Ukiotoma, Tommy Talau, Harry Grant/Jake Simpkin/Jacob Liddle, Sam McIntyre, Reece Hoffman, Luke Garner, Shawn Blore.

We have some veteran players that can make a big difference but have to up their game Luke Brooks, BJ Leilua in particular.

The key to speeding up success will be adding players and moving on from Chris McQueen, Elijah Taylor, Russell Packer, Moses Mbye, Josh Reynolds, Chris Lawrence, Benji Marshall, Billy Walters.

We need better veterans I don’t think our current crop are good enough post this year. We need to add 4 strong first graders next year so the team has at least 6 experienced players 100 games + and younger players. You can’t go all youth but it helps no one with the lack of quality experienced players we have.

Im with Tyga & Teddy.. whilst its disappointing to lose, our team from a couple of years ago would have raised the white flag 30min into this game & get flogged 50-nil. There's definitely a change in the air. No one would sign with the Raiders too not too long ago, The next 2 seasons will be exciting times i reckon

Well interesting read, again we seemed to be dudded by the refs...........could we get a collection plate around for Madge maybe?

At least it wasn't a slaughter, there seems to be a lot of fight in this team despite injuries/suspension and the refs

Felt sorry for Benji. It’s obvious Madge stuck to his plan for when he was going to bring him into the game, and didn’t get influenced by the scoreboard. Poor guy was on a beating to nothing. The first chance he gets to stamp himself, cops a disgraceful pass from Reynolds, which he then proceeded to give Reynolds a look that said “I’ve waited 5 weeks, only to come back and get fed by this moron?”

I would say it’s back to Benji now. Reynolds will probably get a couple or weeks, and when he comes back, under no circumstances should one of them be on the bench. Leave Harry alone, let him play 80. Better off playing Simpkin off the bench than one of those 2. They can’t both be in the 17.

Not much at the time on ch9. They were more interested in hanging JR. They took abit more notice after the game due to Mitchell clobbering Garner in the face also.

Reckon if we got it back to 18-16 we could have got home. The set with 5 to go when Lawrence poked through the line and had Harry on his shoulder. Could have easily scored there. Game of inches as they say.

This punch is worse and deserves at least 4 weeks
If I am right we will see just how biased the ref's and the judiciary are with this behaviour from souths

A punch to the face shows deliberate attempt to harm a player
Bj's head high was not that bad
His momentum had almost stopped
There was no real force used
The player was not knocked of his feet but fell over
There was no blood or injury
Edwards got straight back up on his feet after they got the penalty
Bj's tackle was reckless but due to the Force used was not that dangerous in my opinion
Latrell Mitchell's punch was deliberate and intended to cause harm
He wanted to knock him out

Let's see if the NRL has balls

I feel the same way you do about the percieved bias in the NRL.Imho it can be traced back to the Turdberg administration when it really started to get worse.I have already said PVL needs to come down hard on the referees/match review committee so far he is doing a decent job with leveling the playing field but when you see officials continually destroying teams chances with bias towards the "favoured clubs" it needs ro be rectified.
I am fed up with referees deciding in advance who is going to win and refereeing to make certain that it happens.I have no faith in Annesley/Sutton to clean it up they are the problem not the answer

That was a typical Josh Reynolds performance. That's how he plays. He is everywhere, upsets the opposition and the ref. That's what you get and that's how it's always been - nothing different from any week.

18-10 is pretty good considering our injuries and everything going against us. What really hurts is that we would most likely have won that game with all things being equal, possibly last week as well.

All I know is I’m getting really sick of having to talk about the referees every week. Their increasing influence on whether we can even compete in a game or not is bordering on criminal. I honestly don’t know what the club has done to tick them all off so much. Something needs to be done about it, someone needs to call this out publicly, something needs to change, otherwise what’s the point of us even being in the comp anymore.

Yup, it's driving me away from the game - and the worst thing is the media make absolutely no mention of it. It's just, oh yah the Tigers, they tried but they're just not good enough. You never hear our games disected and analysed fairly, ever.

That LM coat hanger on Reynolds.... the similarities between that and what BJ did is uncanny, yet the commentators made no mention of it and the refs, of course, didn't even look at it.

It's seriously bizarre.

I agree and said similarly last week, so this is just more of the same from the officials with regard to WT. It shows clearly when I say that Henry Perenara has probably been the most "fair" ref for us this year. That's a pretty low benchmark.

Yep besides our lack of discipline (which we almost overcame in the end) this was the most disappointing thing for me.

Joey coathangers someone off the ball last week, gets sent off & a 4 week suspension. Mitchell does it this week & gets the penalty to put his team in an attacking position. How does that work? I’d like Madge to ask the league this word for word. It’s just ridiculous the bias for & against some teams.

After watching the replay this morning I think young Harry over played his hand last night he kept the ball too close to the ruck and made it easy for the south’s defence. He was much better when he came back on I think Madge had some words with him .
