Teddy played 40 minutes played well, the guy is a brilliant reader of defense and a great talker, nothing flash from the halves best player on ground for tigers was the 11 naiyaravoro, this guy will see first grade this year I'm sure he is a star in the making and fotuaika was next best on ground for wests.
Fun game, there was an absolute cracking hit put on by one of our guys which is now a penalty but he sent the Penrith player flying lol. We lost it in the last 40 seconds where they recovered a short kick off and Daniea scored the next play.

Bodene Thompson was a passenger, barely noticeable nofuloma didn't see the ball, freak try by Robinson in the 72nd minute was something to behold for Penrith. Nothing to get excited about

He set up 3 tries tonight, with one being off the back of a great solo effort scoot to set up Naiyarovoro.
He almost bagged one for himself showing off a monster fend only to be brought down just shy of the line. His efforts were overshadowed by the following play where sloppy handling after a quick play-the-ball that should've been a try for the tigers lead to the panthers scoring down the other end.
I don't have the statistics but he would easily be up there with the top as far as tackle count goes. In addition to pure tackling numbers, he also put some big (legal) shots on some of the big panthers props too. It seemed at times that he was the only one showing some real aggression in defense in the first 40.
Considering he played the majority of last year at second-row in the NYC, he also stands to make a great utility option for the Tigs.
Considering the fate of Farrah at the Tigers is uncertain for now, and that he misses a bunch of games each season due to rep commitments…he's definitely one to look out for

Brooks performed well showing off some finesse in his kicking game well beyond his years. He was definitely much more noticeable with the ball than his partner in the halves. Meanie seemed to always be flatfooted and attacking momentum always seemed to halt as the Tigs were unable to really move the ball from sideline to sideline in any way which posed a threat to the defence.
The only thing with Brooks' is that he got bumped off by some of the bigger panthers in defense exposing a weakpoint in his game. Not that he stopped having a crack at them for one second to his credit. The kid's got a lot of heart and some mongrel too which is good.
Tedesco did his job while he was out there. He didn't necessarily give the superstar effort that all the hype into this first game would make us expect out of him, but he didn't need to prove anything tonight. He just needed to survive. And i cant wait to see him at 100%.
Naiyararavovo showed glimpses of what he is capable of. Rumour has it that the big fella is quicker than Koroibete from 0-20m and that even from then on, Marika only clocks in faster over 40 metres by a few hundredths of a second. Given that, i feel he was underutilised and he wasn't given the ball at speed nor with much room to run but i think that is more due to the halves combo.
Fotuaika had a solid game after a rubbish start with the ball.

Bit hard to tell who was who out there with so many new faces but

Joel Luani ...I just like my hookers to be at dummy half maybe he was too exhausted from playing so well.

I was at the game, enjoyed it a shame about the result at the end but doesn't really mean anything only to feel better
how good was our big guy the number 11!! I am not even going to try and say or spell his name, he was a standout. Meany seemed to be just like Benji could kick goals from out wide so easy but miss the easy ones!
The shoulder charger penalites were a joke and overkill too its going to be a problem with the game this year

the last 2 panthers trys were really lucky, we were on the attack about to score after making a break looked all money to score ran the wrong way, lost it panthers picked it up and I think it was 3 soccer ball kicks later panthers scored it was freakish, the last try was just from a short kick off in the final 30 seconds
Taqele Naiyaravoro this guy was great thats the number 11 I was talking about scored a great try in the corner which got us back into the gameand looked like he had our winning try too, you should have seen the sweat off his body it was hot our there!!, I can see him playing first grade this year not sure about how his fitness would go though.

Wests Tigers NSW Cup Head Coach Paul Fletcher was happy with his charges, after taking control of the Wests Tigers squad for the preseason hit out against Penrith.
