What age did you start feeling old?

I think you realise you are old when you look around a room & suddenly realise that YOU are meant to be the responsible adult in the room, when did this happen???
It’s when you sit on the floor & have to think about getting up, the sports injuries hit harder now, you have to think about which knee is stronger & which one tends to give out more.
I try not to dwell on getting old & just enjoy whatever time I have.
I like a quote that is attributed to Mark Twain,
“Do not regret growing old, it is a privilege denied to many.”

You need to keep using it or you will lose it man, start slow and build yourself up to an acceptable level for your age, sometimes I don't feel like doing anything, that's when the power of the mind needs to kick in.
thanks mate - it is on the cards - getting out there doing it is another thing - planned for long walks already around Doony or the Blacktown International Sports Park and probably more fishing 😁

I think when I retired and left the daily grind. I try and keep active but both knees really struggling, and the old grey matter is getting a bit confused.
But what can you do ? And as the Chinese say “ don’t die twice “.

Nothing more can be done unfortunately except for whatever exercise I can do to keep muscle atrophy to a minimum. I do some hydro, though I could always do with more.

Further surgery would only restrict my movement further as a spinal fusion is the only option left on the plate & I have met people who have regretted getting that done.
Had a mate who had his ankle fused, regretted it ever since

Some time after turning 50 I started getting injuries while sleeping. I go to bed feeling fine, wake up with a sore knee. Earlier this week woke up and couldn't turn my head to the left, getting old sucks
Winter can be like that. You sleep in the wrong position and you wake up sore.

Good luck Dazz. Mrs BF had 3 levels done, 2 fuses an a prosthetic, Dr said I will get you walking without pain.
It didn’t work.
That's terrible mate, I can truly relate.

Please be kind to her, she like me would love to be able to function normally both physically & mentally.

Pass on my best wishes to both of you.
