What are your favourite 3 Lote moments

..reading this thread reminds of comments at a Men of League golf day last year, the player in question wasn't a former Tiger but a well known 1970's era fullback/wing,he saw the Tiger headcover on my driver and we started talking about the poor season they were having. He mentioned Lote in that there was no cohesion in our backs,it was all ad hoc, throw the ball around and hope for the best. In retrospect i think he was correct, probaly not Lote's fault but IMO he certainly didn't build up any sort of combination with the inside men.It wasn't helped with no one knowing who Benji was going to give the ball to half the time but i guess that relates back to Sheens.

A lot of short memories in this thread. Lote in the first 6 rounds of 2010 http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=related&v=Zryb_raJ6qE

Some sensational highlights from only 6 rounds of footy.

Pull your heads in.

I suggest you read the thread title again southern.

Ink,

Thanks mate. Read it and understood it. Dont really understand your post.

Several posters have stated in this thread that they cant think of more than two Lote moments worthwhile of making his top 3 moments. The video I linked to clearly shows that is bunk. Lote gave plenty of thrills in 2010 worthy of being considered in the "favourite 3 Lote moments".

This thread is typical of the fairweather fans on this forum and it is embarrassing. Moltzen is a hero in 2009 who is going to be Australian halfback (I was the only one who wasnt sold on him), yet three years later most people on this forum regard him as somewhere between Stalin and Hitler. I can give countless examples of the bandwagoning that goes on here. Utai is a great example. As soon as he has one bad game, watch the wolves turn ignoring his 10 other games where he carries the team.

Lote was in the top 3 wingers in the game in 2010 and formed a wonderful combination with Lawrence. To now suggest he didnt have three great moments is revisionism at its worst.

I think the thread might actually subconsciously suggest his best was a long time ago….and we can take any conclusions from that

Your thoughts on Moltzen in 09 are 'interesting' to say the least....I cant speak for everyone else like you have, but personally I dont recall being all ga-ga over Moltz either....Im sure there were plenty others

But I agree to a point....I see people talking up Gavet, Moses Brooks and the two big islanders whose names I cant pronounce or write.....they havent made a tackle or touched a ball....i think thats expectation or hope.....then when that expectation or hope gets shattered and the player fails to live up to the hype and we see what the player really has.... its replaced with criticism....is that being a fair weather fan?

I dont disagree that he may be past his best. My issue is the suggestion he wasnt valuable to us in 2010\. He was. People shouldnt confuse their views on Lote now with what he offered in the past.

Dont recall your views. Although you criticised me in 2010 when Moltzen got injured as you thought I was being disingenuous when I said "what a shame" given my past history of not being sold on him at 7.

Fair weather fan might be the wrong word. This forum is just full of such extremes. People are either champions or ready for the scrap heap. Ayshford had a bad year last so people want him gone. People wanted Harrison gone and then when he kills it for Canberra they want him back. People wanted O'Donnell gone and when he goes on to become a champion they want him back.

Accept tat Tig_pmz. I guess I just getting less tolerant for whingers in my old age. Yes, ironic I know.

I am tired that in every thread someone (usually Alexaki) has to put in a shot at Sheens. Lets move forward. I for one am positive about the new season. Looking forward to a new vision for the team. The past is past.

Dear Southern Tiger

I think you should be careful reading too much into the comments on this thread.

I am one of the contributors that could only recall two favourite Lote moments (only one of which was with the Tigers). You go too far concluding on this basis that I am a “fair-weather fan”. In reality, I am a fan of Lote, and hope sincerely that he can recover the form of 2010.

You were probably right in your original assessment that there are a lot of short memories on this thread – that certainly applies to me. But a short memory does not imply that I was intending to put the boots into Lote. I support anyone who pulls on a Tigers jersey and wish them all well for 2013.

Cheers

I still think Lote has something to offer if he can stay fit. That is the big question.

I agree with southern - to suggest he didn't provide us with three good moments is absolute garbage. He was great in 2010.

Hi hybrid. Who on this thread suggested that Lote did not provide us with three good moments? I don't recall anyone suggesting that.

Fibro,

I acknowledged that fair weather fan was the wrong term. I still dont understand how anyone could forget the great moments Lote gave us in 2010\. He was incredible on our left edge.

I made general comments. Being general they will unfairly apply to some and apply fairly to others.

Didnt meant to offend you mate.

Cheers

IMHO, he is somewhere between awful FB and occasionally promising half

Southern

No offence taken. You are a passionate supporter, and that's good.

My short term memory is not great - I can't provide 3 favourite moments for any Tiger player in 2010.

The only reason I contributed to the thread was that I was on the sideline when Lote scored that exhilarating try against the Raiders. It's a try I'll never forget.

I'm sure we all hope Lote has a big year.

Cheers

Try with his 3rd touch vs Manly in 2010 (his juggled the ball for his first two touches before scoring with his third)

His try against the Roosters in round 2, 2010 when Flanagan made a half break inside our 20 and got it to Lote who went almost the whole field

His try against Canberra in the 2010 semis
