Geez who let the imbeciles out of the asylum this year. This forum has gone nuts! People need to respect that everyone has differing opinions. Even if they are totally wrong and idiotic.

On the funding thing that I posted. I read (can't remember where though) that it has been a three way split for the past few years now.

I dont really see this as a wests or balmain thing but a Wests tigers thing so i think campbelltown should be more heavily weighted when it comes to junior development.

Dunno what you mean sorry.

I am talking about funding that is provided to the Wests Tigers joint venture by the three leagues clubs in order to balance the books at the end of the financial year.

Junior development is very important though and the Macarthur district is one that the CEO has indicated needs a lot of resources put towards it. Bit of a balancing act though.

Interesting that Wests Tigers have there own junior club in the Campbelltown district now…

their own junior club where are they based how many teams do they have.

I was thinking the same when I read your post, wasn't aware of such a team, be interested to know more

Oh is that a threat.Start waiting for the ugly girl with freckles then

You say a few old balmain fans cant get over it…. im saying who starts all these threads and that proves who cant get over it.Our best 2 players 1 come from keebra park and the other from balmain juniors so your point been.

Agree with smeg and matty sounds alot more sensible

getting a little hypocritical now…earlier you were critical of people claiming Fulton as a Wests junior when he's originally from Parra yet ur claiming Farah as a Balmain junior when the only reason Farah is a Balmain junior is coz his junior team which was in the Canturbury competition folded...so its the same arguement pretty much...if you want to talk about which juniours came from where i think u'll find there are more born n bread Wests juniors as oppsosed to Balmain...Gibbs,Dwyer and Lawrence all from C'town...besides Farah i can't think of another player who came from the Leichardt area and even that background is tainted...regardless if there are more (think Woods might be one) they don't have as many as Wests

Where do i say that mate…..i said our 2 best players arent from c-town that is all.

Dont get me wrong c-town nursery is huge and we do draw alot of good players from both our old teams areas.

OMG

I brought up Leagues Club backing/funding in reference to the NSW Cup Teams ONLY and Not Wests Tigers in general.

Balmain NSW Cup relies on backing from Tigers Club at Five Dock/Flemington + Possibly Ryde/Eastwood
Wests NSW Cup relies on backing from Wests Ashfield

Wests Tigers receives backing from Balmain Football Club, Wests Football Club, Wests Ashfield Leagues Club & Wests Campbelltown Leagues Club - Nothing directly from Tigers Leagues Club.

Wests Magpies Juniors to Wests Tigers NRL Honour Roll includes:

John Skandalis
Steve Georgalis
Ken McGuiness
Cherry Mescia
Brenton Pomery
Justin Doyle
Ray Cashmere
Willie Manu
Robert Mears
Brett Hodsgon
Bryce Gibbs
Dean Collis
Liam Fulton
Luke Covell
Shannon McDonnell
Shannon Gallant
Isaac De Gois
Stuart Flanagan
Rocky Trimarchi
Chris Lawrence
Simon Dwyer
Andrew Fafita
Geoff Daniela

+ other Wests Juniors that went on to play for other NRL Clubs such as Ryan Hoffman & Isreal Folou

this is only 10% of the story he was a blacktown junior for the majority of his time being a st pats and doonside player in the penrith comp.I would also add the names of australian reps michael devere and israel folau and jarryd hayne aswell as the mighty tim brasher as players who were at one time wests juniors oops and nathan hindmarsh too.Im a little confused as to why you feel so threatened and dismissive of our super juniors at wests. If we had more financial support we could make more players from the border of campbelltown and liverpool come to the wests side instead of parra or penrith areas.

Im not… im just sick of hearing it so what.I so wish newtown kept the area then you would have nothing to whinge about.

In over 10 years before the wests tigers what did west do with them....diddly squat.Small old balmain still kicked your asses.

westsTIGERS

This whole thread is about the future of a NSW Cup Team for Wests Tigers… Its NOT a debate about the future of Wests Tigers NRL Club or Team. My point is simply to look at the value of a full time NSW Cup team based in Campbelltown being the SOLE Feeder club to Wests Tigers based on what i have outlined in my posts. I also strongly state that that club should be Wests Magpies to give some leverage to what i believe is the dominance given by the media and other parts of the rugby league community as Wests Tigers being the 'Tigers' and everything being centralised around a Tigers 'brand' with very little recognition given to the Wests side of the Joint venture. Recognition as in fair representation in the history and tradition of Western Suburbs Magpies. Tiger4ever is you dont care about NSW Cup then why bother commenting on this thread??

you have your own team in the nsw cup whats more do you want beggers cant be choosers.

Where do balmain juniors have a pathway to the nrl if its a sole wests magpies team.bundaberg cup…..pmsl

In nrl which you state this thread isnt about but you mention it in your rant though....you guys got wests we got the tiger would it be better if it was balmain magpies would that stop you from whining.Or you want it to be wests tigers magpies i dont get it.You have the magpie on the sleeve we dont have our old balmain tiger on it do we.

all media calls the teams by their nicknames titans, eels, warriors, roosters, bulldogs, etc so get over it.except how it is and the way its heading

You dont contribute anything to this forum except for when its west magpies.dino

Well if your more concerned with newtown than wests perhaps you should support them if its so hard for you to say WESTS tigers. You sound like you hold a lot of fear with wests who are a joint partner not a joint competitor.Massive difference pal.

Maybe i could say you so worried about the precious area then go and follow group 6.

Yeah keep telling yourself that you just did the same thing.PAL

No fear just sick of the one sided arguement that you guys put across dont just read my post look at the post made by dtowelss gnr4life etc.

Once again this thread is about having a SOLE NSW Cup Feeder side for 2012 and beyond. Yes Wests Magpies and Balmain Tigers each currently have a NSW Cup side. But in 2012 that may not be the case.

Of course any Balmain juniors can play for the then sole feeder club. I played in the Balmain Junior Rugby league and that competition has been merged with the St George junior league for over 15 years. You could count all the Balmain juniors that have moved up to Wests Tigers on 1 hand.

Also… If it was the 'Balmain Magpies' created at the end of 1999 instead of the 'Wests Tigers' then how would you like it (as a passionate Balmain boy) if everyone in the media just called them the Magpies???

Wouldn't really be 'tiger4ever' then would it?

EXTRACT FROM WESTS GROUP BOARD MEETING WITH Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys

READ POINT 3!!!

- Made it clear that from the Wests Tigers point of view, they think they would be best served by a single Reserve Grade side as it allows them to train and be coached as required by the NRL coach.

- Round 22 will be Wests Heritage Round to be played at the SCG to represent the 1961 grand final between Wests and St George. A big effort will be made by the Wests Tigers to honor Western Suburbs Magpies.

- He acknowledged that their is difficulty in trying to break away from the perception that the Wests Tigers are just an extension of Balmain. Said they are conscious of this and are trying to help rectify it.

- Even though the Wests Tigers don't provide any direct funding to the Magpies, they do have HM and SG Ball players on Wests Tigers contracts.

- Acknowledged that the Macarthur district is the biggest opportunity of the club but also the greatest challenge. Corporate support still comes from mostly Sydney, but the juniors and supporters are coming from out in the South West of Sydney. In the future see's more games will be moved to Campbelltown.

I give up stay in the past.

They been saying they will PLAY 6 AT EACH HOME GROUND FOR AGES ITS JUST TALK.

WESTS TIGERS RESERVE GRADE TEAM IN 12 OR 13 GET OVER IT.
