Not powerful? Are you watching the same player I am?
There's a difference between running hard & being powerful.

He doesn't steamroll anyone in his runs. With decent contact- he is stopped at the line.

However, with his excellent footwork, he hits gaps & has good foot speed to create metres.

It's not a critisism. He's not Junior Paulo. He's not Taumololo at his peak.

He's very good at hitting a gap through footwork.

So yeah, not overly powerful.

Go back & watch his hit-ups off kickoffs. Tell me how much momentum he carries forward on contact.

There you go he is 22.
I don’t like comparing young players to star players but he does remind me a lot of JFH when he started to transition into a more prominent forward within the Panthers pack. I think he is well on his way to becoming our long-term leading frontman. Just need to get him signed up first.

Bullshit!!

He consistently runs as hard as Leniu - BUT plays far longer minutes with a much higher work rate in both attack and defence!!
Sorry I don’t see it. Couple of real stand out games but not a weekly occurrence just yet. I am certainty not getting rid of him because he’s still getting better.

He just played his 50th. I reckon when he’s chalked up 100 he’s in the conversation for rep jerseys.

As the thread starter, thanks everyone for your insights.

I’ve had the good fortune to meet him and he was so friendly and humble.

All these young guys, almost every game they get a little bit better, faster, stronger and most importantly wiser.

And it takes some of the edge off losing, so long as we see the progress.

There’s already whispers around the forum that young Sam is manifesting himself into a Pole type of youngster with a massive future.

That said, I reckon we still need some more wins this year to claim an unchallenged step up. Just to clear the air a bit.

9 of our 17 this week have played 50 games or less. They will all be better players when they get to 50 games. Better times ahead.

I’m not sure any other club has the numbers of youth they are trying to bring on simultaneously.

Out of necessity but to some extent, also design.

Even if our entire round 1 side were all available as the sun sets on this season, all things being equal, Im just not sure whether we’d select the same side anymore.

Shifting sands of selection!

I understand that you and some others don't see it when the team is losing - that is why I need to sometimes correct people's vision and bring things back to reality!

Roosters got Lenui for $ 525 till end 2025 and are now looking to upgrade and extend , new price around $ 800 k. They want to secure JWH replacement , we need to do exact thing with Pole , upgrade and extend right now , Stef playing games I’d let it play out , Campbell Gillard could be available of reports today ( nrl rumours ) still got 1 year left , may be approach him , get Parra to kick in half next year and we sign him for 3 years at. $ 650

I don't think he'll resign tbh. I think its a slap on the face in the whole Stef situation, and we obviously haven't offered anything substantial, and if so, he deserves to leave because he is extremely undervalued here

I wish he would though

A consequence of a silly policy to offer guaranteed top 30 spots to development players, let’s hope Richo puts that policy down the toilet.
Isn’t he and benji behind bringing all these kids on , I agree bringing 1-2 along but we need forwards with experience not kids , we have a gun 1/2 coming next year and he will need forwards to set a platform for him to work his magic, or it’s back to the wooden spoon , then all hell will break out , Galvin will leave and the kids will see no path with our club

They inherited the squad from Pascoe & his development club mantra which he constantly backflipped on.
