was just about to quote you and agree 100% when I saw "11\. Anthony Tupou"

Tupou?

WTF? :crazy

Did I miss a signing along the way?

Nonetheless, I'd have same side with Fulton in lieu of Tupou, and either Dwyer or Groat/BMM/Begovich on the bench. After a bit of extra thought though, I'd prob play Fulton off the bench, with Heighno at 13, and Blair at 12.

I thought it was pretty clear that Sheens would like to get Marshall into that fulback role?

Whether or not that happens remains to be seen. All I can say is that these days the 1,6,7, and 9 MUST all be playmakers. The fullback often gets into an organising role these days.

Which makes me wonder why many people have Grant, Reddy, Mitch Brown etc in the fullback role?

Regardless of how good they may or may not be, none of them are playmakers that can organise in that one man off the ruck position. Take a look at any of the fullbacks at the moment….. Slater, Barba, Bowen, Icarus Boyd, Gidley, Lachlan Coote, Dugan, Minichiello, Kevin Locke, the list goes on. All playmakers that are just as happy at half or 5/8.

So if Marshall does end up at fullback, we are looking for a new 6\. Crazy? Lets just see......

1\. John Grant
2\. Lote Tuqiri
3\. Chris Lawrence
4\. Blake Ayshford
5\. Beau Ryan
6\. Benji Marshall
7\. Robert Lui
8\. Keith Galloway
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Matthew Bell
11\. Adam Blair
12\. Gareth Ellis
13\. Chris Heighington

14\. Joel Reddy
15\. Aaron Woods
16\. Liam Fulton
17\. Matt Groat

18th Man: Matt Utai/Mitch Brown

Was at the open training session at concord today and Wayne Cousins said Wests have great expectation for John Grant and after his transition to league is hoping that he turns into another Pat RIchards. So maybe wing is what they have in mind for Grant.

Id say wing is what they have in mind. Im baffled as to why people have him as their fullback, he cant even crack fullback in club rugby. He's currently playing on the wing in the Shute.

im fairly confident reddy will get first shot at fullback next year…

I think so as well.

Reddy is a quality player, I remember either B Smith or D ANderson describing him as a coaches dream

I really like John Grant, have been fortunate enough to see quite a bit of him, I have massive hopes for him

In a interview juat after they said they had signed him. sheens sees him as a wide running backrower, not a hit up man.

Totally the opposite to an interview I heard in which Sheens clearly stated he believes Adam Blair is best when used as a tight forward meaning he will be used at either prop or lock, not as a second rower.

interesting. atleast we know he can play well as a prop or second rower which is good if we get some injuries in the forwards

I've heard Blair will be used wider of the ruck.

Have heard they are wanting to offload him as well Demps He will still want a few dollars though
That would be the stumbling block i imagine Demps

Tupou is on mega dollars at the sharks, around the 400 grand mark, their is no way we could get him under the cap even with the sharks paying some of his contract

Story in last weeks RLW says Grant see's himself as a winger, and wants to nail down a wing spot.
