What would you do if you were in charge from here???

Jt has no respect among the NRL community?
No one was saying this, this time last year afaicr…

I know he had two incidents prior to his time here.. But it seems his rep has really taken a nosedive this year.... But is it just among wts fans... Or the NRL community?

1\. He is smart, articulate, with good communications skills and people management skills.
2\. He was always known as a smart player ie 5/8 in a prop etc
3\. He has had great success at the club and has worked successfully with many of our youngsters.\
4\. He was mentored by our best ever Coach in Sheens who himself had these qualities.
5\. He would not cost a fortune.
6\. He would slip in seamlessly to our organisation.

1\. He is quiet and shy… Uncomfortable with media

2\. Good players don't necessarily make good coaches

3\. Good point... But familiarity can breed contempt as well

4.Laurie Daley & Ricky Stuart were also mentored by sheens.

5.pay peanuts you get monkeys... Weve seen this recently

6 someone else wouldn't?

Imo we need an old tough experienced hard head that will cop no crap… Will draw a line and isn't afraid to bruise a few egos.
No more rookies coaching rookies

We need a compromise of sorts.

* Retain Farah.

Strip him of the captaincy, this is a must. Bring forward his exit from the club to the end of next year, in exchange find him a position at the club when he gets back from Super League like Manly did for Menzies, thats how you build culture.

* Sack Taylor.

I tried to find a way to keep him at the club but nothing sits right for me, he is an average coach and no other club would appoint him. No one at the club outside of the board respects him.

* Remove Marina Go

In many ways she is responsible for this mess. She appointed the wrong coach for the wrong reason. She has misread this Farah situation, angered all sponsors and the big end of town that keep this club running. On almost all decisions she has had to make that involved Rugby League knowledge she has got it wrong. Needs to go!

* Appoint Todd Payten as head coach.

Best fit for this squad.Wins back the fans who feel the team is losing its identity.

* Appoint the Walker brothers as his assistants and advisers.

This would be a win win, we get their knowledge and game plan while having someone a little more experienced and media friendly in the head role.
\
\
* Regroup, rebuild and re-brand and come back bigger and stronger next year.

It's clear, despite people praising the club that's it been fixed, that the club still leaks like the titanic. Whether you agree or disagree with the Farah decision, unless the board go through with it, they're going to look even worse than they do now. I understand supporters are passionate and have a voice, but you can't allow them to bully you into going against decisions you make, it sets a dangerous precedent. Stick to your guns. If we're a success in a yr or 2 this decision will be forgotten. Supporters have short memories.

And you know this how?
Just think for a moment of it were you these words you typed were being spoken about.

Yeh he's not much of a coach… But to totally denigrate him as a man as you have is not on imo.... Unless you know him personally and know everyone in the club that know him too.. . If that the case I offer my apologies

Yeah possibly an over blown statement. Im sure there are some who do.

What i should have said is that he has lost the playing group, they no longer have confidence in his approach. This is reason for this whole mess.

But its ok for the coach to bully or threaten the captain to do something he doesnt want to do?

Now thats a double standard if ive ever seen one.

How is that at all a compromise?

Anyway, if I were in charge, it would involve one of these:

How has he bullied and threatened? And please don't say because he told him he'd play NSW cup, because that's Taylor's perogative as an NRL coach whether you agree with the decision or not.

So do the playing group want immediate results?
Will they only respond and respect a coach who will succeed immediately… Or allow them to play the way they want to?
Sounds just like today's generation

 Well spotted, it isnt.

I started off with the best intentions, i had originally written some good things about Taylor and finding a spot for him within the orginisation that utilises his best attributes. I was thinking salary cap management, structural coaching and even head of recruitment but i just couldnt do it.

I deleted the lot and sacked him, forgot to edit out the compromise lol.

I dont know about immediate results, youd have to ask them but as for today generation well you cant make them our generation. They are what they are, just as we are of ours.

The best coaches these days are tapping into this generation and trying to find what makes them tick.

This is why i nominated Todd Payten as the new coach.

Please join the discussion on this on the other thread. Youll find that the players association has submitted a breach to the Wests Tigers over this incident.

The relevenace of that, or even just the players association as a legitiamte orginisation i guess is something that can and should be debated.

Fact is it happened and smarter people than us are taking it seriously.

Hard work being anti Jason Taylor these days, sheeeshhh :unamused:

Bennett is an old school coach, who has let the Broncs play to their abilities.

Look how they are going?

I'd be happy with Payten.

Ok, let me give you a hypothetical TITG. Say JT walks up to Kyle Lovett in the off season and says "Kyle, I know you were re-signed but I've had a change of opinion in regards to you, so you'll be in NSW cup this yr". Can Lovett take him to court?

The answer is no.

My thoughts on this are on the other thread, there are clear and defined lines between the hypothetical Lovett incident and the Farah incident.

Leave this thread for its intended purpose hey.
