How many times do other clubs get called their full names in the papers? or even the calls on the TV?
They don't need to be the full name all the time. But WT is referred to as the 'tigers' only around 90% of the time
We and media all call souths just souths most of the time, manly just manly most of the time same goes for parra or parramatta
WT is VERY rarely called just wests! With The cronulla sharks vs WT game from round 1 on fox sports, matt russell (commentator) did not use the name wests or wests tigers once in his call.
Ricky stuart wrote a full page article on benji and WT and did not use the name wests or wests tigers once in his article
The wests name is taken away from membership logo and merchandise
Some media have even accidently called WT balmain during panels and calls
I just want all fans and media to respect the wests in WESTS TIGERS
There is a wests heritage round once a year with a black and white only jersey and wt fans are up in arms about it not having any orange On it… (i remember some posts on the story with 500 comments about it) because the jersey is SO different to normal wt jerseys and merchandise.
Not to mention the shrinking magpie on the sleeve... I mean cuff
Myself and other WT fans just ask for simple respect for the wests in wests tigers.
Successful JV made up of two foundation clubs with two individual histories. Not just a renamed or modernised balmain club.
