Where is Oneill in all this?

Now if you red the job description Buckets is the most powerful man at the club. He is Taylors boss.

Was stated earlier in the season by TT that he has some input in selection?

His overall job I assume involves recruitment, retention, salary cap, personel, coaching, and football decisions??

You would have to think he would have to sanction this move? That it would have been discussed at length?

Just interesting we here nothing from Oneill. Now maybe that is a good thing, you dont want a football manager trying to be the coach? Although maybe Taylor could do with further back up support?

Anyone got a take on it?

To be honest i would rather buckets says nothing. No matter what he would say it would only be used by some on here to cast more oil on the flames we already have.
Nobody including myself is likely to change their point of view

Publicly acknowledging O'Neill's input in team selection would totally undermine Taylor. It's a no brainer.

As long as O'Neill is doing what he is paid to do then I don't care. As we have seen throughout the year, Taylor is the main guy fronting the cameras, with Pascoe occasionally coming out with damage control statements.

Maybe JT was happy to wear this one. The media already has it in for him anyway.

More likely than not, Taylor _wants to own_ this decision and it's the same in the corporate world. Strong business leaders put their hand up and _own_ the big and generally unpopular decisions (eg: staff redundancies). The press conference showed that to me, especially when he was asked if the younger players in the squad have pressed for Farah to be dropped. He poured water on that suggestion straight away and owned the decision.

History could possibly judge that press conference as one of the big turning points in the culture of the club.

History will judge Taylor on results.

He needs results in this last 7 weeks.

Our draw is favourable and were a tpretty much full strength.

We have some average side in front of us that we need to overhaul to make the finals.

I give us a real shot, but ill be interested to see the response of the team this week.

agreed, if we win our next 2 games i have a strong suspicion we'll be inside the 8 (or maybe just outside at 9th).

and if that does happen, JT is a genius and farah is an outcast within a couple of weeks. just take a look at our record with and without farah

if it doesnt, then we'll have a 950k player next season and probably not jason taylor at the helm

We've heard from the coach and the CEO. That's more than adequate. How many more do you want to hear from?
Taylor is here next year, so get used to it. We are a rough shot of making the 8, missing out won't decide his fate.

Well, Brooks and Moses now have the opportunity to substantially increase their market value. I sincerely doubt they, or others for that matter, will throw in the towel in protest over Farah's dropping because if they did, their value would plummet. It would just scream to other clubs they cant run a team without a security blanket.

They dominate the final section of the season without Farah playing, those earlier price tags will be more than justified.

Pretty much.

The way I see it is if they don't perform, JT is as good as done. May as well take the bull by the horns and make the changes you see fit. If it all works out he is vindicated and looks like a genius.

He's gone all in here, a lot of pressure on him, and on the team to deliver now.

The way I say Brooks fall off a player from behind the other day no way it would increase his market value. Like water off a duck's back he was. The silly thing is that even if the team goes well they are still wasting hundreds of thousands on excellent player Robbie - member's fees going down the drain. Not very well managed.

I see this next game is the most important of the season. So much more is at stake than 2 points.
I'm a big fan of Robbie and I am a liitle confused that JT cant still have him in the side. But you have to admire JT for sticking to what he thinks is the right way to go.
You have to trust him, he is steering the ship. He knows more about rugby league and the inner workings of this team than any of us.
To be honest I'm a liitle surprised how much drama dropping robbie has caused. And how much vitriol Jt has been copping.
The team is a squad of 25 players and Robbie is just one of those. They all should be working toward the one goal and the coach is the boss. End of story.

Well said,if there are possibly other clubs interested in Farah there is no way they would pay $400,000 for Robbie while he is reggies, when they could get possibly get him for $100,000 or $150,000 & have the Tigers pay the rest.

It's not members fees. The salary cap funds are covered by the NRL grant.

NRL dont allow this

They definitely do. Farah is guaranteed $950,000 (as reported)& the Dragons pay him $100,000 a season (the Tigers must agree) then the Tigers are required to pay him $850,000 which is included in their salary cap.

The NRL wouldn't register Farah for lees than $500k if the Dragons were to sign him .
